this would be useful. It is well written
There is some interesting historical information about Turkish Angoras, and info on breed behavior and characteristics. Much of the book is more general info that could apply to any cat. If you are new to cat behavior and cat care, this would be useful. It is well written.

Kudos for the book!
I have owned Turkish angoras since 1974. they live a long time. This book really matches what I have experienced. We currently have a rescue and even she learns tricks and has developed into a warm and intuitive pet.

and I know a book doesn't have to be perfect to be useful
This book was obviously written by someone who loves the breed, and I know that the author spent many hours compiling this book; but there were so many little things that bothered the daylights out of me as a pet owner that I had to comment. For example:*I was shocked to find "toys" listed under non-essential items for your cat (p. 34) and then both scratching posts and toys were listed as "optional expenses" (p. 134).*Describing the Angora as "not a lap cat" but explaining that it "loves to snuggle" in the same paragraph (p. 19) had me re-reading the section a few times and still unsure of what the author was trying to convey. I read it out loud to my partner who could only shrug.* The chapter on nutrition was without any real detail, saying instead "Regarding nutrients, you should consult a nutritionist...." (p. 91).There are more, and I know a book doesn't have to be perfect to be useful, but some of this information in the hands of someone new to owning cats is so misleading that I was very irritated.I picked the book up for £2 and for that I'm not going to worry about sending it back, but I will not be lending this to anyone - wo much is missing or just plain wrong, in my opinion.I'm really sorry, I hate giving poor reviews, but there wasn't any real way around it this time. :s
