Love this stuff
Love this stuff. I have an organic garden and I feel it does not contaminate my plants. I can't believe how much time I've saved from not weeding. I use this every year I plant my garden.

WeedBlock did what I needed
This product is a very nice weight mesh for the garden. Easy to roll out and handle. I like a more natural weed barrier, not that plastic stuff. Filled my garden area just right with a little extra. Product would be very beneficial for anyone needing a weed barrier.

I placed my drip irrigation lines UNDER this fabric and it worked out just great. Id id not remove the lines for the winter and apparently, the fabric and mulch was enough to keep them from freezing. Rain does not pool on the top of this fabric and I have no drainage issues at all. Just like with newspaper and cardboard, the water will sink in slowly when the product is bone dry. It is made of corn and will decompose after a few years but by then I am sure most of the seeds will be dead. When I did pull up a section to plant something new a year after installation, I found worms and healthy soil. I am glad that I am not killing my soil like I did with the plastic stuff. I have have not had issues with any of my plants or trees. New weeds that have seeded on the surface of the fabric in the mulch pull out easily when they are small but I imagine if you let them get big it would be more difficult to remove them with the fabric in place. I do wish it came in longer rolls. 36 feet is not a lot of length.

Beware
This weed blocker fabric product looked appealing because it contained 50% renewable ingredients. So I bought a roll, laid it down in a landscaped area, and installed my drip irrigation system over it. When I went to test the irrigation, I was horrified to see that the water didn't penetrate the weed blocker fabric. It didn't even wet it, as it would ordinary black plastic. It just beaded, like water on a waxed car, and formed little pools in the low spots. Thirty hours later the pools were still there, minus evaporation. There was no way I was going to disassemble the irrigation system, so I had no choice but to take the fabric up in pieces, undoing the hours I spent fitting it around plants. I would simply do without a weed barrier, relying on mulch alone. Not a happy camper. But I was lucky. When I tested the irrigation, I saw the defect. Many people would simply lay the fabric down, apply mulch, and walk away, unaware that a rain would create runoff, rather than wetting the soil. Did I get a bad roll? If I did, then lots of people did, or will. They don't make one roll at a time, but large numbers. It's on your home improvement store shelves, waiting for you to feel green and bite.
