The struggle to fit in and find your own unique identity is something every one us can relate to, regardless of where we were born or reared. There is so much in Greg's book that is beautifully written and heartfelt, that it's hard to single out just one or two which stand out above all others. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll smile, you'll think 'yeah, this is me. I can see myself in this piece.' But most of all, you'll reflect on your own experiences and look back and smile. It made me laugh, cry, brought back good and bad memories and much more. Written in true story telling style Greg gives his truthful down to earth points of view brilliantly. I loved it!! - S. E. This wonderfully written book took me on quite a journey. I found myself going through so much varied emotions, one moment feeling empathy and sadness then laughter on just reading "Scattered Youth." Then going through intense anger and disgust upon reading "The Confessional," to the heartbreaking "Brandy," just to name a few. There are times of pure delight and roaring laughter to tears and gut wrenching sorrow, to times of deep thought provoking moments about life and the world today, collectively united through human connection worldwide. About the Author Irish author, poet, and storyteller, Greg McVicker, was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He grew up during the heightened period of sectarian hatred and a violent, political war known as 'The Troubles' which claimed the lives of 3,700 people. At age fifteen, his parents relocated their family by way of immigration to Winnipeg, Canada. He describes this as an 'Everlasting Homesickness'. Writing unashamedly from the heart, he composes stories and narrative poems which delve into arduous topics regarding the human journey of life. He published three new books to tell his and the story of many others whom he's met. He composes his works as a social worker, drawing inspiration from his experiences and working with marginalized populations. These include: Residential Schools, Addictions, Grief, Loss and Death, Poverty, Relationships, the Sex Trade, Child Welfare, Political and Religious ideologies, Spiritual Beliefs, The Troubles, and Irish Folklore and Mythology. His first book, a personal memoir, saw countless people equate their life experiences to that of his in their search for a sense of belonging while exploring their past.
