Very nice and large.... but.... HORRID chemical smell!
I bought this item yesterday, and I do like it very much. I like how big it is, I can fit my keyboard on it and have plenty of room for my mouse, it's heavy and sturdy, and while I wish the printing on the map was a bit less fuzzy, I imagine it isn't easy to print text on fabric.However.... it smells. HORRIBLY. It has an extremely strong chemical/rubber smell that actually gave me quite a bad headache after only an hour. So I removed it from my desk, and sprayed it with Febreeze fabric freshener, hung it outside, even sprayed it with perfume, and nothing has diminished the smell so far. I can only hope that the smell fades, because I would very much like to be able to use it without having a migraine!I'm not certain if it is washable, I didn't see anything in the description about it being able to be machine washed... so didn't want to try that. I'm hoping the smell will fade away.Update after nearly 3 years: This mouse pad was quite nice, for a time. After about 6 months the edges where my wrists lie began to fray. Then the backing began to melt and stick to my desk, leaving a very sticky, tar, rubber residue that was extremely difficult to remove (Goo-Be-Gone helped, but it's still there, under the mouse pad.) I turned it upside down so the sticky melted backing area was at the top with the frayed edges, but now the bottom (formerly top) is also frayed with the backing melting. For the price, I can't say it wasn't worth it, however I will NOT be re-purchasing this mouse pad because the smell took literally moths to dissipate. I think it was at least 6 weeks before I could bear to use it at all, and over 3 months before the smell seemed to be gone completely. That is really unacceptable to me, as someone sensitive to smells. I am now on the lookout for one that does not smell this badly, and won't melt all over my desk, ruining it.

Just get it. You're welcome.
I worried a little that the picture was going to be less representative of the pictures in the description. It just got here and I have nothing but good things to say. I bought the American flag mat. This is exactly what it looked like on screen. It lays perfectly flat right out of the box. No worries there. It's heavy neoprene with a good rubber grip on the bottom so it doesn't slide at all. I also worried that the seam around the edge might bug me rubbing against my wrist. Again, no worries. It's thinner than I expected and the seam is bound tightly but feels fine against my wrist. Not scratchy like I thought it might be. As for the rubber smell giving some people headaches? I don't know who these people are. Wash it I guess if it's too irritating. It smells new. I like it.So basically everything I worried about since this is an inexpensive option compared to some of the mats I first found, everything I worried might disappoint me, didn't. Perfectly happy with it.Now, stuff I didn't realize. I bought this because my optical mouse has worn the finish off my work desk and is now reading inconsistently as I drag it around. It's really annoying when you're trying to edit across four monitors and the cursor keeps getting hung up as you go back and forth from window to window. I tried two different mice with the same issue. It was my desk. I hate mouse pads. They're never big enough and I just didn't want one. I wondered if maybe I could get a plastic mat like for model building and cutting or something and ran across this style of product. It seemed like a great idea. Why not have a giant mouse pad? Well here's the best part about this thing, Not only does my mouse now track perfectly across all four monitors with a smoothness and precision I didn't have before, but it's also silenced the clicking sound of my dumb mouse scraping the surface of the desk. It's comfortable on my wrists. It's quiet. And It's a big old American Flag that goes with the style I've got going on in my edit bay set up in a concrete basement. It's excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone considering it. Buy with confidence. Totally worth it. Wish I'd bought it sooner. If you have a desktop workstation, you need a desk mat. Just get it. You're welcome.

I've got the whole world under my hands.
I bought this for my desk at work. I use a trackball mouse so I don't really "need" a mouse pad, and I can't really comment on responsiveness for optical mouse tracking, but I've found that the three millimeters or so of padding under my wrists really helps me battle the fatigue of typing all day. This extended pad is a little more broad than I am from shoulder to shoulder.I really like it; plus, it looks cool. It also serves a secondary purpose as being a decent, flat desktop globe. So if someone really wants to know where Lesotho is; I can say, "It's right there, silly snuggling entirely within South Africa." Which is a phrase I've been wanting to use all my life. Sadly, no one has yet to ask that question... But don't let that deter you! If you buy this, there is at least a sliver of a chance that someone WILL ask you that, and you'll be able to tell them, and point it out.

Still love it!
I use this as my every day desk mat. And I mean, I'm using it every day. It rests under my keyboard and mouse. I use it as a work surface. I plop my lunch on it. I've spilled water, soda, coffee, food, snacks... it's seen it's share of messes. It cleans up really well. No stains, even after all that.It sits right at the front edge of my desk. I rest my arms on it, and the edging has not become tattered. The quality in craftsmanship is amazing. I will probably continue to use this for at least 2-3 more years, unless I do something stupid to break it. I'll probably be purchasing another that I can use at my small parts work table, because it a soft, but flat surface - tiny parts are easy to get, they don't roll / slide around easily, and it keeps the sound down too! No clunks :DEven if you don't game, I highly suggest getting one... or more!

It's a great mouse pad, but not a good navigational chart ;)
Just received this - Looks awesome on the desk. Nice and grippy on the bottom (no more pad slips while gaming), and good solid build.Good size for my, although is actually only 39cm wide, so my country has fallen off the edge of the world. Capitalized county names containing a "G" have been replaced with "Q" - e.g. ALQERIA and MONQOLIA. The red line in the middle of the pad (I guess) is supposed to represent GMT 0 hour, but actually shows GMT -1.I find these things hilarious, and it's a great mouse pad, so will be holding on to this gem.Additional bonus misspelling: "South Pacific Coean"

The print is very poor, but works ok as a mouse mat.
The print is poor. The image fades out to the top and bottom of the mat, so that anything north of UK or south of South Africa is too faint to see - including the key, scale, and most of the labels. The projection and cropping mean that Antarctica is not shown. The text is too blurry to read. The big red UTC line is an odd design choice. However, it seems to function well as a mouse mat, and is a nice surface to rest your wrists on.

Really makes hard wooden desks a lot quieter!
I got this solely because when you're dealing with a lot of camera equipment on a hard wooden desk, it makes a lot of noise. This makes things much quieter! Definitely make sure to measure your space first because this is pretty big. It really deadens the sound of putting things down on my desk, and it's pretty good as a mouse pad, too!

XXL, smooth, and most importantly, cheap
As the description says, thisnis an XXL gaming mat.More than enough space for a full size keyboard as well as room for your mouse.Quite a smooth surface, but not as good as my older Corsair mat.Edges are stitched which adds a premium touch and should help stop it delaminating, which is what happened to my Corsair one.For the size and price, it can't be beaten.

Keyboard stays perfectly still and it looks amazing on my black glass desk with tempered pc case
Absolute bargain! I was a little concerned with how the quality would be for the price but was really surprised! Never could go back to just using a normal sized mouse mat now. Keyboard stays perfectly still and it looks amazing on my black glass desk with tempered pc case!
