nice heavy bar, it is steel with some wood looking coating on it. Worksfor 2 6 year olds and 9year old girls.

Easy to assemble, pretty decent paint job, very tough for small hands to adjust height but that may not be a bad thing. Bar is solid without splinters. A few rooky fabricator errors: bb's, warping, a little rough beads. A good product for the price.

Santa be warned: PICTURE OF THE ITEM IS PRINTED OUT OUTSIDE OF CARDBOARD BOX. Package too heavy to grab quickly and stash inside before curious kids see it. Gymmatsdirect, around xmas time, could you black out the name and picture of item on cardboard box with a marker so kids don't figure out what Santa is bringing? Otherwise, happy that you ship that massive heavy thing without charging us an arm and a leg! Will update review after xmas, but after spending hours reading reviews and checking various websites, this item seemed to be the best deal/option for a kid level 4 and up.

We purchased this as a Christmas present for my daughter and there hasn’t been a day where she hasn’t used it! The bar is sturdy and constructed well. We have the mat underneath but no extra support bars or weights on it. (My daughter is 65 lbs). Only reason I gave 4 starts is because the holes for the bolts were very tough to get lined up.

My girl used the gymansitcs bar for more than 1 years, the bar is still very strudy like new, but the plastic part of the screw knob was knocked off a small piece by acceident, so I need a replacement knob. It works perfect.
