Pickle: The (Formerly) Anonymous Prank Club of Fountain Point Middle School

My now 13yo loves this book. She has checked it out so many times from our local library for the past 3-4 years. I decided to break down and surprise her with it on Valentine's. I've never personally read it but, she raves about it. She still laughs while reading it and that's still after reading it many times.

As a middle-grade writer myself, I bought this book before I attended SCBWI (the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) because she was going to teach a class I was taking. I had NO idea what I was about to read. I ended up reading portions of her book aloud to my adult friends (we're in our 50's) and found them snorting with laughter! I read the prologue and had my critique group asking me to keep reading so they could see what happened! This book is loads of fun and yet, although they are a bit cartoony, they are real kids with real stuff going on in their lives. It's a perfect balance. I can't wait to pass it to my grandkids when they get here this summer.

I haven't watched it, my son likes to watch it, said it's funny, watched it several times, it's pretty good!

I loved the book. It’s about friends who started a prancing club, and they pranked at a few places. This dude named Hector wants to join the club but the lead; Ben, says no. So, he gets the club in trouble😨. What will the club do? Find out More in Pickle!

Good book for young boys...my 10 year old grandson enjoyed it. Calls for discussing pranks...breaking school rules, because, even though the characters are likeable and not malicious, they still break rules and are duplicitous....in their Pickle Club antics. We thoroughly enjoyed it...so much so that he checked out the hardback copy at school (we read kindle version) so he could read on the bus and finish it early.

Bought this for a young teen who struggles with reading. He highly recommends it for others. He never complains when asked to read it. I will be buying more for others in my class.

It has just the right amount of humor to keep the kids interested and reading along - good for 9 - 12 year olds IMHO

Pickle is a highly intriguing book, a book which keeps you hooked to your kindle, a book about friendship, and a guide for tricksters. In this book, Ben forms a group of pranksters, called the League of the Pickle Makers, which is of course, their undercover name. Ben and his friends pull hilarious pranks in their school, and I’m thinking about trying a few. I would rate this humorous book 4/5 stars.- Arjun Bir Vashisht
