ZodiacSpot On Flea & Tick Control Medium Dogs 31-60 Pounds 4 Pack

My local drugstore recommended I use Spot On as a cheaper alternative to Frontline. He said he had been using it for years with no problems. I have been using it on my cats and dogs for years with no problems. My dog goes outside often and she has never had fleas. She has never had a bad reaction after application. I have found ticks on her but they are always dead. I use it starting in the Spring until the Fall.

This product is cheap and there may be a reason. It doesn't work for long. About 2 weeks after application, my dog started itching like crazy. Her underbelly had several fleas on it. I had to re-apply the product to get rid of them. Even if you apply it twice a month, it's still cheaper than the premium brand stuff, so I might continue using it. I can tell there isn't much liquid in it. No way does this cover a whole month.Update: After another application of Zodiac, no fleas were killed or repelled. Two days passed and my dog still had flees. She didn't have many to begin with but those were still happily crawling on her after two days had passed. I have since ordered another product that got rid of them quickly. I'm giving two stars because the very first application of Zodiac kept my dog flea-free for 2 weeks. I won't be buying it again

Always works right away and at the first application even when prescription brands don't. I know some smaller dogs can be sensitive to it, but for my "big gallumphers" it's never been an issue. I used to use another OTC brand (originally recommended by a friend who swore by it for her father's hunting dogs) until they changed their formula - this is the same formula as the other brand, but for less money.

It burnt my Frenchie's neck, you really need to spread it out in several spots so it doesn't burn them.

So far it is working since I haven't found any ticks on my dog. It was easy to apply and my dog did not have any reactions or issues with application. It does have a strong smell, and at the advice of other users I applied it at night before bed, and the smell wasn't as strong in the morning. This product cost a lot less than many other similar product on the market. Will continue buying this brand instead from now on.

Applied this to my dogs as directed. 5 days later I found a flea while brushing the dogs. The next day, while brushing the dogs, I found another one. Today, the seventh day after application, I found yet another flea!!! These were LIVE fleas on my dogs 1 week after using this product!!! That's 3 fleas MORE than before using this product! Not pleased at all!
