Security Light with Motion Sensor 10W Waterproof IP66 PIR Outdoor Flood Lights Spotlight Outside Lantern Daylight Garden Garage

I installed this to replace an old filament-based garden floodlight that no longer worked.Installation was easy. Drill some holes for the wall plugs (or in my case, reuse the existing plugs from the old floodlight), switch off the power and wire up live, neutral and earth in a waterproof junction box, switch on the power. Adjust the time, motion sensitivity and light setting. Done.One thing to note is that the wiring colours aren't British standard colours, however, there's a label saying what each of them are so it's not a problem.The light is bright, but not so bright you feel as if you're in an interrogation room. It's about as bright as my old filament light, but rather than being 100W it's just 10W, so is a nice energy saving.The build quality seems good, but only time will tell how water resistant it is.The PIR is easily triggered, but if you find it too sensitive it's adjustable to be more/less sensitive. The light setting allows you to set whether you want it to run at day and night, or just at night (I only wanted it to run at night), then the time setting allows you to set whether you want it to remain on for a long time or a short time between motion detections. This is useful if you intend to be outside the detection range.Overall I'm very happy with the area the light is spread over as well as the brightness, the installation was easy and it is adjustable to my preferences.

Not used Samhue products before, but after a sensor failure on a halogen light that had been in place for over 10 years I decided to replace and upgrade to a lower power LED version.The light I chose was the Samhue Outdoor LED Flood Light 10W. Rated A++ for power consumption.The unit comes with an ample lead attached and suitable for my installation. The bracket allows for easy fixing to a wall or structure with free good quality fittings supplied with rawl plugs.My only gripe is that for people who are not as familiar with items like this; the instructions should describe how to set the unit up with a walk test. As an engineer I am used to such installations. So on the day of the install I was able to set the time and sensitivity to suitable level. By this time it was dark so I set the light level adjust on a second day, just so that it would come on and be active at the correct time.But for me no big deal. Just feedback for people who may not be so familiar with such systems and average DIY skills.

I'm really impressed with this light. It's well designed, not too heavy and it's bright. It looks great. The only whinge is that, as with most, perhaps all, security lights, the controls knobs are very small. It took me a long time to get the correct settings for my needs. A lot of trial and error. Only a fraction of a millimetre movement means the difference between say ten seconds duration or three minutes. Trying to get it to stay on for approximately 90 seconds was time consuming, but I succeeded. Also (and this is the case with nearly all security lights these days), you can alter the vertical angle, but not the horizontal. It only points forward. For most people this will be fine, but for some people who have to mount it at an angle for various reasons, this poses problems. In the end I mounted it using an extra angled bracket which I made myself. They used to make far more security lights which could be altered along the horizontal axis.

Slim, quite powerfull security light with sensitve PIR. I found it easy to fit and set up.Walk testing after dark I had to turn down the SENS to less than a quarter or it rapidly went on, off, on.The 2m cable is a boon as long as you can put the lead through a wall (shed in my case) to a power source.I fitted a plug to enable easy removal or re-setting.

Easy to install.Decent luminosity.Good detection.Down side is it works in the day too. Got a free one in the sky for that so just costing money and using up the life expectancy of the leds.

Sensor not very good, light is mounted 1.5 meters above car on front of garage, 10 metres from start of drive but won't pick up movement until you are about 5 metres away.

Worked really well at first and gave off the perfect amount of light. But after few months the sensor has let water in making it very temperamental.If I could be bothered to take it down I would send it back.I also bought a bigger one at the same time and that had to be replaced really soon for the same reason (this one lasted a couple of months longer). Both of them are the same make.

Delighted with this light as it was easy to fix and adjust, compared to the more expensive one from another supplier that I spent ages trying to fit before realising it was broken. Am very pleased with the spread of light from such a small lamp.Just what I wanted for my porch area and for light to come on when someone comes into the drive, and would recommend to anyone who is not tech-savvy like me.
