## Overview

How to Starve Cancer is a bestselling, highly rated book by Jane, who overcame terminal cancer using a unique, personalized combination of diet, supplements, and repurposed low-toxicity drugs. This groundbreaking guide offers a detailed, science-backed ‘Metro Map’ to block cancer’s fuel pathways, empowering readers with integrative strategies that complement conventional treatment. Essential reading for anyone facing cancer, it blends inspiring real-life resilience with actionable medical insights.

## Description

A modern-day ‘Cancer Sherlock Holmes’, Jane discovered that a cancer-starving diet, powerful supplements and a handful of old, forgotten, low-toxicity drugs, when taken together, acted synergistically, magnifying each of their anti-cancer effects many times. Like magic, her terminal cancer just melted away. In this truly ground-breaking book, Jane takes us through her remarkable, heart-breaking journey, and the medical discoveries she made on the way. Using herself as a human guinea pig, she worked out the best drugs and supplements to starve her own cancer in an easy-to-follow ‘Metro Map’. She has expanded this route map to show which fuel pipelines you need to block for every type of cancer, so you too can create your own cancer-starving cocktail. Tragically many simple old drugs have been overlooked in the race for the latest patentable 'game changers’. Is the answer already out there? Jane believes it is. Bit by bit she has pieced the puzzle together, demystified its complexity, and produced a simple protocol. This book will answer all the burning questions you face when you begin to explore complementary cancer care. Which ‘off-label’ drugs and supplements should you take? Should you try the ketogenic diet? Should you fast? Is fat safe? How much and when should you exercise? Jane explains why each patient needs a personalised approach and, importantly, how to work this out. This book, part Erin Brockovich , part Dallas Buyers Club, is a compelling story of resilience and determination in the face of impossible odds. If you or a loved one has cancer, you absolutely must read this book. Even if you have been told that nothing more can be done, Jane will show you this is almost certainly not true.

Review: Essential Reading for Those with a Cancer Diagnosis, and their Oncologists! - Jane's story of remission from Stage IV cervical cancer is truly inspiring and engaging and will bring hope to anyone in the same situation. Jane's story is also very much more than a biography of a radical remission. It's a detailed and knowledgeable summary of the path she took with repurposed drugs, and how and why they worked to halt the cancer in its tracks. Jane delves deep into relevant research, and has devoted herself to working out the detail of how the metabolic approach she employed herself, can help with other types of cancer. This makes the book a unique offering which empowers people with any cancer diagnosis to follow suit. Cancer is multi-factorial and it's clear that it's a combination of things which enable some people ( like Jane) to overcome a ' terminal' diagnosis. There are no magic bullets or miracles. Jane's story illustates the sheer determination, will and dedication that underpins her ability to confound her prognosis, and the groundbreaking and remarkable contribution of repurposed drugs, which were at the time of Jane's diagnosis, on the very periphery of knowledge. She sought them out and she's a true pioneer, and now a powerful voice for this approach to become widely known, to develop further and to change the face of modern cancer treatment. I'm a cancer survivor, a retired RN, and a mentor qualified to help those with a cancer diagnosis who want to follow an integrative treatment plan...and I have no hesitation in recommending Jane's book to anyone in a 'spot of bother' ( as Jane endearingly describes her diagnosis) and suggesting that they consult the oncologists at the Care Oncology Clinic who research and prescribe these drugs in their practice.
Review: An extraordinarily gifted author telling an extraordinary story. - I have just seen the 1-star review about how this book is discouraging and insensitive and I am not surprised. It is truly discouraging to have Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I have it too, but this book lays out Jane’s up-close-and-personal history with cancer, so I doubt she wanted to use the book to discourage anyone, or to be insensitive. I hate to presume, but maybe this reviewer means that the truth is discouraging? Jane’s book is entirely truthful, she tells of an awful experience with an awful disease. She speaks of her darkest moments and her push to realise what her instincts were telling her to do, i.e. to survive! Blimey, I have a nursing background and I am reeling at the complexity of the information she offers. However, this is exactly what medicine and molecular biology entail – complexity. I challenge anyone to read this book without making notes. If you buy this book and read it, you will be educated and empowered, if you so choose, to take control of your future, no matter what your diagnosis. It may or may not work out for you (or me) but at least you can have a try. The reality is as described by Jane, cancer can make you terminally ill, and that is a big deal. Cancer statistics are truly scary! I can testify that chemo is seriously toxic and that metastatic TNBC does not have a good prognosis, not that I have it, I just don’t want it. From what I have read, clinical trials boast of extending disease-free progression of metastatic TNBC by 10 months. Just look what Jane did using her own ‘non-clinical’ trial 12 weeks to 20 years. I know that alternative treatments are often side-lined and dismissed. However, I for one am going to put as much effort into creating my “Spot-of-Bother” chart as Jane did and hopefully get another ten years. That’ll do, I’m seventy now and living with my mum aged 95 who is still kicking ass! Jane, you are a Godsend. Thank you for your colossal effort in writing this book and giving us hope. BUY IT, EVERYONE, READ IT!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everyone needs to read this book
*by K***P on 4 January 2019*

I have just finished this and I’m about to start reading again more slowly. Having had my second run with cancer in 4 years I was hoping for something motivational and challenging with this book and I’m not disappointed. I finished chemo and radiotherapy 6 months ago- I suppose I am still in the shocked and anxious stage- anxious that I will be dealing with cancer again in the not too distant future. This book gave me a sense of engagement in the battle, the oomph I need to pick myself up and hit back- at cancer, at a system that failed me on occasion and that dictates what happens next rather than seeks to include my voice. There is a fair bit of science contained in the book and rather than be put off by it I went off and read the original articles and more. I’m fascinated that there are bog standard medications out there for other illnesses that can massively help in the war against cancer. I’m intrigued with the author’s determination to tackle cancer from as many angles as possible. I think that this is a book worth reading by everyone given that statistics now indicate that cancer will affect 1in 2 of us. Why wait for a diagnosis when there are so many areas we can tackle now from diet, fitness, stress management and understanding what cancer is and why it finds willing environments within us. Read the book. Pass the book on. Even if you don’t agree with everything find your role with cancer and fight back. This gave me hope when I felt like I had hit a brick wall, or rather I felt like the wall had toppled in on me. Just read the book!
