## Description

Genetics: From Genes to Genomes is a cutting-edge, introductory genetics text authored by an unparalleled author team, including Nobel Prize winner, Leland Hartwell. The 5th edition continues to build upon the integration of Mendelian and molecular principles, providing students with the links between the early understanding of genetics and the new molecular discoveries that have changed the way the field of genetics is viewed. Users who purchase Connect Plus receive access to the full online ebook version of the textbook as well as SmartBook.

Review: A good addition to my bookshelf. - A brand new book that is as advertised. It was almost a shame to scuff up the shiny cover. The book touches on the early history of genetics, and it has most of the basic information you would need to gain a better understanding of the field. This book is a bit advanced for people that are just curious about the field. If you are seriously considering this career path, then this is well worth owning. However, as with any textbook, I feel that you would get much more from this book if it were used with a University course.
Review: Good book - Pros: - page quality is good-- same as every hard-cover textbooks. - Large texts so it's very easy to read, especially if you have to cram 2-3 chapters over 1 night. - Pictures & diagrams are life-savers. They're probably the best thing about this book. You can easily understand concepts by looking at them for just a few seconds. - book is pretty thin - my professor literally follows the book, so if I miss a lecture or space out during class, I can just read the book and be perfectly fine for tests Cons: - Sometimes it gets a bit wordy. I feel like they could've worded it better for cleaner, more precised explanations (of course, after I understood the concept)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great basic genetics book
*by R***R on December 17, 2016*

This was a great book that covered almost everything I was looking for. The edition I read (5TH edition) did not include anything about CRISPER, but the latter is now easily found on YouTube.
