In the right conditions, it can grow 3 feet tall in 24 hours! You can literally watch it grow with your own eyes! Trees can take 30+ years to grow. Bamboo, however, can grow to full size in 3-4 months. Bamboo produces the largest amount of oxygen compared to other plants of its size. Bamboo can grow under difficult conditions, meaning there is never any need for pesticides or fertilizer. Our bamboo is fair-trade, organic & ethically sourced from Bali. NB: The bamboo straw contains the food grading on the inside of the straw - this ensures the straw keeps well & is safe for drinking. This is why the outside of the straw may be a slightly different colour to the rest of the cutlery (the outside of the straw is the natural bamboo colour). Each straw varies in width (5-9mm) as it comes from natural bamboo stems. We can't change the world overnight, but our small changes WILL make a difference.

An awesome zero waste product.
From the brown paper packaging with the green ribbon to the email thanking me for buying, the presentation from the company is actually pretty damn good. The product itself is of a very good quality, thick sturdy handles the will last, the three pronged fork is actually incredibly sharp, the knife obviously won't stand up to eating a roast dinner, but for a packed lunch, picnic or food on the go it will serve its function. The spoon has a shallow bowel so will be able to cope with soup, yogurt or porridge. Chopsticks are an added bonus but won't be used by my son for whom this was bought. And the straw is wide enough for smoothies. A note for some people the product does have a strong smell, which has faded somewhat after 3 washes, it's not unpleasant it's a sort of smokey smell, but if you are sensitive to smells this may bother you. I can't recommend this product enough, and will be making further purchases as gifts.

Perfect cutlery set for lunch on the move!
I am on the move a fair amount meaning I end up picking up pre-prepped meals or bringing something with me. I was always a bit frustrated at having to use the plastic cutlery from the supermarket or just having a metal knife and fork floating around in my bag.The Bare Vida cutlery set is a great solution to that! As you can see from the pics I went for the black set, which has a sturdy zip case, just the right size to fit all the pieces.The set comes with everything you need for day to day use, including a cloth for wiping, very useful to then not need to head to the bathroom somewhere to clean cutlery - people give you some weird looks when you do this...I'd definitely recommend this set to anyone who doesn't want to keep wasting plastic and wants a robust solution. I also like the story behind the company, getting something that is hand carved to this level of quality is pretty rare this days.Great gift for the environmentally focused foodie or for yourself when on the move!

A lovely item from a caring supplier
Lovely product, beautifully packaged with a real personal feel. It is the only one I've found that includes everything - knife, fork, spoon, chopsticks and straw (all in bamboo) together with a napkin all in the zipped case. The paper bag it came it was ribbon-tied with a tag directing me to further information, support and added extras including warranty. I've been in touch with the seller on a non-product related issue and have had fantastic, speedy replies and complete transparency. I'm looking forward to buying more as Christmas approaches.

No more throwing away plastic cutlery every day!
I eat at Leon, Pret or Itsu most days and wanted to find an alternative to their disposable plastic cutlery. Spotted these and thought they’d do the job. And they are perfect! Very lightweight but super robust and sharp. They are really comfortable to use. It’s so much nicer eating with these than with plastic cutlery. Paper straws are good but they tend to fall apart so having your own bamboo one is much better. The fork is cleverly made so you easily clean between the prongs. I’m really happy that I’ll be throwing away a lot less plastic in future. Really recommend.

THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT !

Beautifully handcrafted bambo set. Love the straw in particular!It feels great to have this in my draw at work, I use them everyday to avoid all the plastic ones I get when ordering food!The packaging is also really sweet and well made.I’d recommend this product!!

Great set!
They arrived with a weird and strong smell, but after cleaning them thoroughly, it's much better. Using them is easy enough. The case looks sturdy enough! The main idea when I bought them was to reduce waste that can happen when I eat outside (napkins, plastic cutlery, straws. ..). I chose this set because it has everything I'd want no matter where I'm eating. Also, I'm going away for a very long trip, and I needed it. Only thing missing, a straw cleaner! But I'm really happy with this set!
