Luowice WiFi IP Camera Outdoor Wireless PTZ Security Camera HD 1080P Pan Tilt Zoom 5X Optical 100ft Color Night Vision Two-Way Audio IP66 Weatherproof Motion Detection & Alerts

First, I would advise any potential buyer that the housing of this camera (Luowice PTZ outdoor IP Camera) is NOT made of metal (as are some more expensive PTZ cams) but of some type of plastic. Also, the unit that I received was missing the weatherproof cap for the Ethernet connection. I found that it also did not have any detectors for maximum pan and tilt, so if you manually move the camera head with your hand, it will lose track of the maximum stops for these functions and will no longer pan or tilt to the MAX positions in one of the directions. You can fix this by using their app to pan the camera all of the way in one direction or the other and then use your had to spin it the rest of the way to the physical stop.. This will re-sync the stepper motors to the max pan/tilt amount. Apparently they decided to save a few cents by using a"counter" function on the stepper motors instead of having a detente switch at each end. I guess you get what you pay for. I won't say that this is a "bad choice" for an outdoor PTZ camera, but certainly no the best choice.Otherwise, the camera has an OK picture (not great, but OK) and the app they use is the same as the one used for the SV3C cameras. you also must use M/S Internet Explorer to get the full functionality of control if you use their web interface (similar to SV3C and Wansview if you are familiar with them). As for longevity, I cannot speak to that as I have not had the camera long enough to tell, but I am hopeful that by mounting it is a place where it doesn't have much exposure to rain/sleet.etc. that it will have a reasonably decent lifetime. BTW: it can be used by Blue Iris without too much tweaking.Overall I think it is an OK camera for the amount paid but it should be about $25 cheaper to have a fair price based on what I got.I will update this review once I have more operating experience with the camera.11/30/18: Also worth mentioning is that installing the bottom two screws on this camera is very difficult as there is no way to get even a stubby screwdriver to engage the screw head on it. The only reasonable way to get these screws installed is with a flex drive or using a mini-right angle (ratchet type) screw driver or a very small ratchet with a screwdriver fitting. This has been true on a number of these types of cameras though.. Not just this one.

Right off the bat I ordered 2 SD cards for the cameras, there is no place for an SD card, it uses TF cards, although there are adapters its still not what they advertised, worst problem is the adds associated with the software available for them, its constant adds, your phone becomes useless, especially while texting, adds recognise your using text or internet and BAM there comes the adds, I will be removing them just because of this. I need my phone back for business.

Having a lot of problems connecting to the camera. For the first week I was able to connect to it every now and then but now it will not connect at all.Picture is good but it’s kind of useless if I can not see what is going onIf some one can help please do.

The camera worked good for 3 months & then just stopped working altogether. Big disappointment.

This is my second luowice PTZ camera. Both have decent picture quality but both suffer from the same problem! The preset functions do not work as they should. Preset will remember your pan and tilt settings but NOT the zoom! It is a real problem when your go from one preset that is zoomed to a non zoomed preset. The camera will remain zoomed until you manually zoom it back out. This is unacceptable. BOTH my luowice cameras suffer from this flaw. This could be fixed with a firmware update but it has been a problem for over a year now and no updates to fix it. The camera live stream is hit or miss. It suffers from laggy performance, The video feed will often stop when motion is detected exactly when you need it the most, however the camera will record to the SD card correctly during that time. IF I buy cameras again they will not be louwice.Edit: things just keep getting worse with this camera. Connections problems, streaming problems. Its junk. I have other louwice cameras and this is the most expensive one, its also the worst. DO NOT BUY unless you like being frustrated!

Bought this last year and I like it very much.I can monitor my house from anywhere as well as speak through it and it has very good image quality.As for the 2 way sound, there is some lag and the voice out is muffled. Configuring the app is confusing and speaking to someone can be frustrating as you have to select the microphone to speak then select the audio in to hear a response. This alone is frustrating as you will miss when someone is responding to you. There is a lot of room for improvement on the Audio in/out.

The media could not be loaded.  I researched various cameras for a few weeks before finally deciding on this one, After receiving it and using it for a few days, I'm pleasantly surprised at just how capable the onboard software is vs what I paid.I love how easy it was to set up that you only need to connect the power cord.The zoom feature is goodthe app on my phone and roommate's phone works well and simultaneously.The night and day vision feature is smart.Also motion detection activates with the light turning on.you can control the camera remotely from anywhere through the app even to the extent of adjusting angle and zoom from the app itself.Recommended 100% 👍👍

I purchase this camera Oct 2018. The picture quality close is good, but once you zoom out is very bad. It's blurry and faded. The one thing I dislike about this camera is their app. It send me none stop alerts, you have to keep the alert option on include for your recording to save on the SD card. When I go to play my saved files on the app. It's the worst, it does not play back the full clip. It give me all this color lines, and a terrible image. I am so disappointed. I am not sure what to do to fix this issue. I have a door camera that give me good quality play back with no problems. I wish I was able to get my money back so I can buy the right camera like nest or a better brand that can give me good picture quality even when I zoom out and that can play back my recording with no issues. I will not recommend this camera to no one until they fix my issue. Not a happy customer
