Photo, photos, photos. -- Ed Goldberg, VOYA, February 2005 From the Author After researching for months on this book, I have come to appreciate the depth of the sport of NASCAR. Not only does NASCAR offer the most colorful and exciting action in present day auto racing, its history is rich in heritage and there are many time-honored traditions that continue to this day. Conversely, the metamorphosis of NASCAR is more structured and complex than other sports. It is not just about nine or 11 competitors on a field throwing a ball around for 60 minutes. While other sports have had few changes since their inceptions, the world of NASCAR stock car racing is constantly in flux, from new drivers to technological advancements in the race cars, to new track venues and markets. I have learned a great deal about the history and present-day inner workings that make up this great sport, and with a new-found enthusiasm I will continue to experience this most fascinating sport. About the Author Timothy Miller is a widely published automotive journalist who has written about auto racing for 25 years. Steve Milton is a sports columnist and the author of many sports books.
