Pick up your pencils or brushes and colour in 20 of Klimt's major works, one of the greatest artists of the early twentieth century. Along the way, learn about the techniques and understand the secrets of his painting. Paintings include The Kiss , Judith I and Portrait of Emilie Flรถge . Accompanying each painting are a short history of the painting, line images to colour in and blank pages for your own sketches. Copy directly from Klimt's works, practise different drawing techniques, or create your own Klimt-esque drawings - it's up to you! This is a book that will be loved by colouring fans, art lovers and aspiring artists alike. Review: lovely quality - bought as a present. looks great but not sure its been used Review: A good quality colouring book - A good quality colouring book, with thick pages and twenty of Gustav Klimt's pictures to colour. The book opens with an introduction on colouring, as well as Klimt. Then each colouring page has the original piece opposite as well as a paragraph telling you about the picture. It's a nice and gentle way to teach people about Klimt. The colouring-in designs are nicely reproduced, the lines are clear so you can distinguish the areas without a problem. Obviously, because some of the paintings are square or rectangular, the designs don't fit the whole page. I don't have a problem with this because sometimes I don't want to colour in a whole page. The paper itself is nice and smooth and thick, perfect for colouring. The only downside is that none of the pages are perforated. I know in some colouring books they come with a perforated edge so you can easily pull the pages out. Sadly not in this book. Although there is a dotted line for you to cut along, I feel pages with perforated edges would have been better. Overall a pleasing colouring books, with some interesting designs. Perfect for anyone who likes Klimt.

A gorgeous, superior quality colouring book and guide to the artist.
This is a superior quality colouring book that my daughter loves, as a huge Klimt fan, and she is planning to use this to de-stress during her exam period. It begins with some advice on colouring paints & brushes or pens. It then tells you some background on Klimt and then finally the pictures. The book has the original on one page and the line drawing to colour on the other with some blurb on each picture. The book is bigger than the average colouring book, has great quality paper and with the line drawings backed by the paintings you don't have the situation where what you have coloured/painted bleeds through and spoils the next picture ... But paper quality also means that isn't an issue. To do Klimt justice I have got out some metallic paints and pens as my daughter is not the only one who is enjoying this gorgeous book! I think this would be a brilliant book for anyone with an interest in art as it is a fun introduction to a star of the art world plus it gives you some background and information to help your appreciation.
