Stanniol Silver Tinsel Heavy 15 g

I've been looking for this stuff for years! Just like it used to be when we were kids! Trust the Germans to have the best while we (UK) end up with silvered plastic shreds! It's not cheap but with careful handling ( and it is quite delicate) it will last for years. Looks great on my Christmas twigs (too old now to bother to buy a tree) and makes them look like something out of It's a Wonderful Life. If you haven't seen that movie then give it a watch over Christmas!

Exactly what I was looking for, heavy tinsel for that vintage look. The price is a bit dear and the quantity is slight, (be aware you will need at least a dozen packages for a six-foot tree) but the shine and drape are worth it. I need to investigate if this version actually contains lead (blei in German) as that can be problematic with children and pets. From my research I don't believe it does but best to be safe.

Heavy and crinkly, as it is meant to be. A darker shade of silver than I was expecting, but it looks good in candle light. The strands are 40-50cm long - a shame that some are not longer. For a 7 ft / 2 m tree, about 8 of the 15g packets are needed.
