FlowXtreme NE4518 Pro In Ground Pool Pump, 5280 GPH/1.5HP, Black

Its a quiet pump! My last one only lasted just under 2 years! I wanted to give it another shot and see what happens this time! It's Value for the money and my pvc plumbed for the same motor. LOL Took me a total of 30 minutes to change it out!

Update August 1, 2019 - company sent new pump under warranty.Update July 26, 2019 - no one has yet to contact me regarding my warranty claim. Poor customer service. No excuse for no contact.Working with the company and the warranty to have my pump replaced. Awaiting their reply. The motor is bad and the pump will not work. The lady I spoke with to initiate the claim was super helpful, so I am hoping the company sends me another one before my pool turns green. Fingers Crossed.

It pumps, but it's very loud.The directions for connecting the wiring require someone who is skilled in this area. Definitely not for everyone. I don't like the fact that the switched to select 110/230 is on the outside and can be tripped at any time if someone bumps it. That switch should be under the cover.From the plumbing aspect, the directions were very confusing. You need to use a PVC safe thread sealer. The product that says not to use is oil based and is dangerous for plastic, but there is a PVC safe version. Teflon tape on the threads will absolutely not cut it.Also did I mention the pump is very loud?

Easy to install. Hope it lasts. Great price.

This was the first and second of two of the exact same 1.5 hp pumps (FlowXtreme NE4518 Pro in Ground Pool Pump, 5280 GPH/1.5HP, Black Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc). Purchased May 22, 2018. I installed it with little or no effort slight changes in the connections to accommodate the 2 in. compression connectors. Worked fine and quiet, but within 2 months I noticed a noise in the motor, it got louder and louder. Sounded like the motor bearings were going out. I waited a few more weeks and it got so loud it finally froze solid. Amazon refunded the product, but the company that supplied them with the pump is no longer on Amazon. So, I bought a second replacement pump, July 13, 2018, from a different company (FlowXtreme NE4518 Pro in Ground Pool Pump, 5280 GPH/1.5HP, Black Sold by: National Sports). After the full refund of the first purchase, I bought the second and now it is doing the same thing the old pump was doing….same loud noise and soon it will freeze up also. I have already contacted Amazon to resolve issue and have not heard from the company National Sports. Pending resolution.
