You will receive one healthy Green Tea Kombucha SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) approximately 3 inches in diameter and about 1/8inch thick. The SCOBY will be packed in approximately 60ml of starter liquid (extra strong Kombucha green tea) . You may see chunks of yeast and bacteria starting to grow when it arrives. This will be enough to ferment about four quarts of sweet tea. A new baby SCOBY grows with each new batch of tea - so you can conceivably increase your production with each batch. You will also receive instructions on how to set up and maintain your Kombucha brew. PLEASE NOTE: The size, texture and color of each SCOBY will vary.

It's the real deal...but read on
Mine came with a little over 2oz of starter and a roughly 4"X1/4" pelicle. The starter, fortunately, was way strong. Strong enough to successfully make a 1qt batch using loose leaf sencha and organic cane sugar. I've been making Kombucha for a long time, and water kefir here and there too, and wanted to expand the variety of cultures I have on hand. This seems like a good buy.Hanibal's Diner, if you're listening, a bit more starter and a stronger bag would help.

I've made 6 batches of very delicious green tea kombucha with this starter and SCOBY so far. They keep getting better with time.
