The Saint John's Bible: Wisdom Books

I have been in love with this series of books for many years now. And I have given them as gifts. Even the DVD produced to show the creation of these books is amazing. For anyone interested in the Scriptures and art - this is the series of books for you.

My son in law is collecting all the St John Bible books. He was very happy to receive this. The graphics and visuals in the book are more than beautiful....very ornate; however the print is "old Roman" style and is not very easy to read. To me, it's more of a collectors item than using for daily devotionals.

I now have all of the books of The Saint John's Bible. The incredible care and artistry in creating this Bible is fascinating and fulfills a new realm in understanding the bible.

These are great quality and perfect for Lexio Divina, my children love reading this bible. Pages are great thick quality. This bible is very large.

The books of the St. John's Bible are spectacular. The imagery is gorgeous, the colors are fantastic and the lettering is impeccable. I've even gone through the book just looking at the versals (drawn and painted letters at the beginnings of verses) because they are so varied. I might suggest that you purchase Illuminating the Word because it explains so much about the process. I plan to buy all the books of this series.

This is a beautiful book! It's not one to be read quickly. Some of the calligraphy is difficult to read, but the effort is part of the joy. I bought the book for the complete experience....illuminations, calligraphy, word. It did not disappoint!

As a makerof tallitot--Hebrew prayer shawls--I've visited and done demonstrations in conjunction with the fascinating St.John's Bible exhibit here in Santa Fe. If you never get to see the original pages,twice as large as these over-sized books, you'll still be enchanted by the modern interpretations and calligraphy.

I love these bibles. They are beautiful. Great writing and fantastic artwork. Good, solid hard back books. I bought several for Christmas gifts. I currently have 4 of the 7 book set. I cannot wait to complete my collection.
