Excellent Intercom,we used to monitor an elder from bathroom to kitchen surprisingly transmission is very clear and monitor works perfect,not for limited time but continuously no time limit.- easy set up,manual with instructions. one unit seems defective disconnect at times,contacted Merchant they will replace this probably defective unit,Merchant very reliable and very good service. prompt delivery. When used as a 2-way Monitor, it is voice activated,which cuts off first word of whatever you are speaking. This is a "positive" if you do not want ambient noise coming through speaker when Monitoring- especially at night. Only prolonged sounds like coughing or choking that are more than an instant in time. If you are using it for ongoing conversation (in 2-way mode) you need to start each sentence with a single word knowing the other side will not hear it. Like a Walkie-Talkie you cannot both talk continuosly. Would have given 5 stars, but Manual is hard to understand due to bad English grammar.

I needed something for my big house that covered all the rooms because my husband is sick. These are great! They are also chargeable and portable so you can carry with you if necessary. I feel comfortable knowing I can listen to my husband if necessary as well. We use these all the time!

I had purchased a previous version that was terrible and gave it a bad review. The company provided me with a free sample to make up for it. I tested it and this one is great. Such effort is really admirable. They seem to have fixed all the bugs and turned it into a very nice intercom for the home and went the extra mile to make it right and to win a customer back. I bought two more for additional rooms. With the two more, I now have again four, but find that with more than one the same issues appear: feedback, poor quality, poor interface design that makes it difficulty to connect and call more than one intercom.. Disappointed that it was only marketing after all.... Now I have 8 intercoms that sit in the corner unused...

At one time, a lot of intercoms worked over AC line current in homes. Plug them in to the AC and they transmitted their signal over the wiring inside the house or office. Basically, that's all you could do was talk on them from one to the other and all were on the same "channel." Enter these SAMCOM intercoms and it takes them to a new level. These intercoms, which transmit on FRS UHF channels, which doesn't require an FCC license, have an incredible number of features that may leave your head spinning until you figure out all they have to offer. For those technically inclined, these intercoms use FRS channels in the 20 frequencies programmed into them. A variety of DCS codes are used to screen out calls between the units. By using discreet DCS codes, it eliminates the potential for interference from other FRS radio users, especially those using more common CTCSS tones. I applaud SAMCOM for taking that approach! This helps ensure that you don't receive interference from routine FRS users when you use these intercoms. There are a couple of features that I really like. The MONITOR function allows you to transmit continuously from one intercom to another for keeping an ear out, much like you would use a baby monitor or room monitor. The MONITOR switch has to be enabled on both intercoms, the one transmitting and the one receiving, to ensure that someone can't accidentally push the button to monitor without the other's knowledge. I like that setup. Selective calling allows you to call one specific intercom without bothering all the other intercoms that you may be using in your home or office. This is like a direct line between intercoms and it's so easy to use. But the best function is the GROUP function. If intercoms in your home or office are on different channels for communications purposes and not all on the same channel, you still can reach all intercoms on your system by pushing the GROUP button, which transmits to all your intercoms, no matter how they are set up. This is great for announcements and emergencies! Also, the VOX function allows hands-free use between intercoms, for instance if two offices need to talk back and forth together on a project. What a great idea for an intercom! Lastly, these intercoms also will work on an internal rechargeable battery, which offers even more versatility. If your power goes out, your intercoms still work! It also allows them to be used in areas where you may not have electricity. These intercoms work excellent, have great range between them and the sound always has been crystal clear for me, no matter how far apart they are in my home or office. I am glad that these intercoms work so well.
