Nexxus Color Assure Pre Wash Primer, for Color Treated Hair, 3.3 oz, 3 count

I found out about this when looking up how to combat issues from washing your hair with hard water and its effect on color. This is applied BEFORE you get into the shower. The instructions say to start at the bottom of your hair and then go to the top of your head (for long hair obviously). I think this is so you don't end up with a vat of oil on top of your head and so it's spread evenly. I definitely see a difference when I use it and the color looks brighter and my hair is less dry. When you get your hair wet with it on it does feel weird as if it's dirty but it washes normally and it's easier to comb out afterward as well.

Bought this product to help with moisture in my hair. I always forget to use before I shower, but have used and put hair up for a few hours before shower to help with moisture. Not sure if it’s working... but I believe it helps. I color-treat my hair at home and last year I got a wavy perm for fullness. (I believe this is why my hair is majorly dry)

I am a natural brunette who has been getting my hair colored red for a little over a year now. For those of you who don't know, red is the hardest color to maintain. I have tried every trick in the book; washing in cold water only (brhhh!), washing only twice a week (yuck!) and only use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner for colored hair only. Additionally, I use color protect spray and wear a hat when I am out in the sun. Until purchasing this product my hair color would only last about 4-6 weeks; now I can go at least an additional 2-4 weeks. I used the product as instructed (5-7 pumps) and make sure I comb it through before jumping in the shower. It does affect the lather or suds of your shampoo, meaning there will be less; other than that, I do not notice any difference in my shampoo/conditioning routine. I can tell by the amount of dye in the shower water that I am losing way less color each time a wash my hair.

Call me crazy but my product totally looks used!! The tip had white stuff on it like built up product.I am not sure about this actually protecting my color, but it is great for my thick naturally curly hair. I used it before I washed my hair and it caused the shampoo to have very little lather...which I don't really care. I also used a tiny drop when I got out of the shower and it was so nice to dry my hair faster and decreased SIGNIFICANTLY my drying time and my frizz. So whether or not it protects my color or not I have not found out yet, but it sure makes my hair smooth and pretty amazing feeling in my hands.

This is one of several "Holy Grail" products I use religiously with my dyed hair. I use a semi dye (4-24 washes) bc I like to be able to switch up my vivid colors often. This extends the life of my vivid dyed hair by MONTHS. I typically need to do my roots long before any of my Punky (by Jerome Russell) begins to even fade. This product covers hair follicles and prevents shampoo from getting in the follicles and cleaning out the dye while still allowing the shampoo to clean off excess oils from scalp and hair. There's very little bleeding of dye when you use this product. I can't imagine the wonders it would do for anyone who uses permanent dye! Beautiful scent (white orchid oils!) and super easy to incorporate into your regular hair washing routine. Plus, I have long, fairly thick hair and after 5 months I'm only 50% thru a single bottle! It lasts forever!

My long hair wouldn’t live without this product, as it is very thick and coarse from grey hairs. I apply more than recommended, 9-10 pumps, until it looks greasy. Then shampoo with Nexxus Humectress shampoo and conditioner, and finish with a combination of half Biosilk serum and 1/4 each Moroccan oil and coconut oil. The combo may seem a bit much, but leaves smooth finish, manageable, not greasy, and easy to style for several days. Little breakage and healthy hair, plus color that lasts and doesn’t turn weird shades!

I use this with the Nexxus shampoo and conditioner. It keeps the color in my hair from fading. I love how it makes my hair feel. I will continue to use this product.

Great lightweight oil. Has a clean floral smell. I use it before I shampoo and also sometimes just when my hair is feeling dry.
