Tepacito Taiwan Black Tea High Mountain Sun Moon Lake Premium Grade Red Jade 18 - Oolong Tea Loose Leaf Naturally Grown (Red Jade18)

This is a fairly good quality tea from Taiwan which is known for its tea.I use this for cold brew and I can smell the fruit note and it is very smooth.Highly recommend

This is a very good black tea, and I'll have no trouble finishing it. I'm a little disappointed though that it doesn't compare well to more expensive versions of Red Jade 18 that I've had, but you get what you pay for. This is smooth and a bit fruity, with some similarities to Ceylon or Assam teas, but it doesn't have very much of that unique Ruby 18 character. I don't think it's "inauthentic," just that it might be harder to get that distinctive flavor from a lower tier tea. I realize this isn't cheap, but compared to most Ruby 18 teas it's definitely in the lower-end range and unfortunately you can taste that.

My wife bought this on a whim, simply because the box shape was the same as that of a Ruby 18 we picked up at a World Tea Expo that we loved, the best Sun Moon Lake Ruby 18 we've ever had.To our surprise, this version was nearly identical, with the same yeasty/honey/savory nature. It was only slightly less impressive than the World Tea Expo tea, perhaps because of being stored in an Amazon warehouse rather than being freshly processed for a tea industry trade show. This version on Amazon though has the big advantage of being readily available through Prime, and actually being cheaper than the version we bought at the WTE.I highly recommend this tea as a great example of what a Sun Moon Lake Ruby 18 should taste like. When brewed carefully with slightly cooler water than normal all of the interesting and unique flavors 'pop' to the surface strongly. Avoid brewing at full boil or too long as the more base notes of the leaf will override the more subtle notes.I have been recommending this one to all of my tea friends, and those who say "you can't buy good tea on Amazon."

I ordered the product with oolong tea and was sent black tea. The tea infuser is excellant though.

Taste is personal, and this is not one I care for. Having said that, this was poorly packaged and not vacuum sealed. The tea had many stems in it, and was obviously not of the best quality. I would not purchase again.

I love the loose black tea from the tea award winning country-Taiwan. It makes me smile when I drink it. The tea is fresh, full body and has sweet and honey aromas. The frangrance stays in the mouth for a long time after drinking it. Excellent fine tea!!
