Fantastic cheap grow lights
I love these lights! I've bought five so far and plan to get more. The lights are very thin and lightweight, and can either be assembled end to end for a long, skinny strip or side by side to make a rectangle. They come with three different ways of hanging them: twist ties, a hanging hook that connects to all four corners, or (this was new with the most recent one I bought) four adhesive mounts.Pros:-The light is bright and natural colored.-They get slightly warm but never hot.-They're very lightweight and easy to mount anywhere-My plants love them-They're cheap!-I have had them running 12 hours a day every day for more than a year with no noticeable change in brightness. I just added a new one next to the old and there was no difference between the two.-They draw very little power since they're LEDs.Cons:-If you plan to hang them out in the open, they're not the most attractive things. I have them mounted to the underside of a set of shelves, so you can't see them at all, and that works fine for me.-They're kind of flimsy. I haven't broken any, but I feel like I could break them fairly easily if I tried. It's a side effect of them being so lightweight.-They don't come with a timer, so you'll need to buy your own timer if you want them going on and off at set times. The only problem I ever had was that when I bought one set, it came missing the little bag of connectors. I returned it and got a new one immediately with no problem.

Absolutely terrific lights
I grow houseplants, African violets, and orchids. I have really gotten into orchids over the last year. I have three massive shelving units full of plants. I use Acke lights. I have the rwb I have these I have the other led variant as well. These Revlon and grow orchids wonderfully. My African violets are constantly blooming. I bought a different light that claimed to be stronger and I will be returning it. These work, they are very thin, very easy to assemble and work so well. I've tried a couple from other brands and they were not as sturdy and stopped working. I have other varieties of ackle lights I have had for at least five years I am still using due to a positioning issue where the panel wouldn't fit as well. They make indoor gardening affordable.

Perfect for a shelf system!!
I adore these lights. I use them with "OMAR" shelving units from Ikea. They are SO BRIGHT and very easy to set up and install. They are sturdy and have no gimmicky feel like many other grow lights on the market. If you're a hobbyist houseplant grower like myself, give these a shot! I was very skeptical at first with the good price, so I only ordered one, but once I gave it a test I ordered more and now my whole shelf system (over 70 houseplants) uses these. I use these with a timer because I have so many of them. You can buy a timer outlet strip and these work well with it, or you can just use the handy switch on the cord. I chose this light spectrum because I personally prefer warmer lights, but keep in mind that this light spectrum is pretty red and may cause your plants to bloom. To summarize: buy one and see how you like it, I like them enough to have bought 8.

I thought this was a piece of junk! I was wrong.
I got it in a box 10" x 4" that weighed less than 1 lb. It was much smaller than I expected. My mistake: I forgot to read the dimensions. Instructions had no words, just pictures. I check the parts and there is one left over that looks like a fuse or connector but its not on the picture. So, I put everything together by the pictures on the diagram. It overlaps in the middle and all the little white grommets pop off and land behind my entertainment unit in and around my plantsi reassembled the thing several times over a period of about 30 minutes. I plug the light up and one panel doesn't work. Then I realize what that other piece is. Not only does it pass power from one panel to the other but it also stabilizes the two parts so there is no overlap and the white grommets don't pop loose. Now, that should have been #1 on the instructions. Would have saved a bunch of time and frustration. As for the light it's every bit as nice as the other reviews say it is. I live in Washingto State. My plants suffer severely in the winter months. Already the plants seem to be responding. I like that it's white and not that pink glare. It seems a lot brighter than the other grow light and cost a lot less.

I've been beyond impressed with these lights!
I started with 2-3 of these panels (a few years ago) and I've purchased over a dozen of these lights since. The versatility and performance of these types of light panels is beyond compare. For such a thin, lightweight panel, it produces a stunning amount of light and my plants have been really thriving.Recently, I needed a few more panels and I thought I would save myself $1 per unit by purchasing a few similar panels from another brand. That turned out to be a mistake. The panels looked near-identical but the lights were too dim to light up the area below, let alone provide enough light for seedlings. I returned them and happily bought more of the ACKE lights.I use industrial shelving (48"x18"x72") for my seed starting and/or for growing smaller plants that don't do well outdoors in the winter. I dedicate 4 shelves to plants, and the lights are affixed 2x2 per shelf. So far it has been the ideal setup.I can't recommend these enough.

Plastic clips don't work, but the light is great...
The plastic clips that come with the light (to connect the two panels) do not work. All of mine broke. Additionally the peel off tape clips are not the correct size as well. I made it work, but am disappointed with those aspects. Had to use machine screws and nuts to join the 2 plates. Not a big issue, but everything in the box I received didn't do the job. Light seems to be running great. Just set it up, so we'll see. I purchased a year ago, so my kit has been sitting unopened. (Grow shelf didn't happen until now. Such is life.) Love the concept, easy to use, just hvae a few machine screws and nuts on hand.
