Vault Case Waterproof Airtight Case

I ordered the VC-12 at the same time as ordering the Seahorse SE 300F so that I could compare.The VC-12 is listed (at time of writing this) as lightweight at 1 lb. What? it weighs 3lbs8oz.The plastic is abraded between the hinges, so it looks like something hot melted it.The case hinges wobble a bit so that it does not feel solid.The molded handle is not comfortable to hold.No where is it listed where the case is made, not on Amazon, not on the Vault Case website.I called the company. It was great that a person answered right away and was able to tell me China.The Seahorse case (a little bit smaller length, little bit deeper) is made in USA, is less money, and is perfect construction.

I generally use this type of hard case for my photography. And I normally buy Pelican and Storm cases. Though Storm/Hardigg cases are not part of Pelican. As they now cross reference each other online. Which is sad as I liked the lower cost of the Storm cases.Anyway, I needed a new case to use for flying with my handguns that would work for the TSA. So I wanted to find a better price point. Also, I wanted something that wasn't so deep. My cameras need deep cases, but not my handguns. So based on interior and exterior dimensions, I found this Vault brand case.I was worried it wasn't going to be as strong as Pelican and Storm cases, but I was wrong. Has the same feel and construction quality as Pelican and Hardigg cases. I bought the 12" Vault case which has a shallower depth so there is not as much wasted space.I will attach photos with 2 handguns in this case. A Walther P99AS and P22. As you will see, it's a close fit with these 2 guns. I give this case 5 stars as it is solid, well made, tight seal as I can feel the air pressure seal perfectly, and the latches are strong as expected. And with the deep seal lip, there is no way anything can go in or out of the case even with a little gap when locked but unlatched. Which is what I needed for TSA flying.The case and foam are 5 stars. And while it will work for my specific 2 guns and travel needs. I do wish one of these case companies would make a shallower case that is slightly longer and slightly wider. Seems many brands have a small case that is perfect for 1 handgun or 5+ handguns. So it would be nice to see someone make a size that is perfect for just 2 handguns in a shallow case. Which I can then also store under my bed.

too small to be useful

I use the 20 inch case to protect my DJI phanton. The perforated foam allowed me to easily make a custom fitting case. I cant keep the propellers on, but i just removed a few foam cubes and have a perfect spot to store them. I have flown with this case multiple times with no issues. It does not fit in all overhead compartment for small regional planes, but it does fit under the seat. If they try to make you gate check it, just let them know it fits under the seat.I have taken this on the beach, and gotten it wet, yet everything inside stayed dry and sand free. I will be purchasing a few more of these for all my camera equipment. The price is right, and everything stays wells protected.

Was way too tiny. Not their fault. I guess I wasn't paying attention to dimensions.

Wow, what a nice case for the $. I got the 12in, and you can get 2 pistols and mags in there and still leave spacers between everything. I only have one pistol now, but may get another. This is the same type of hard/military plastic that pelican is made of. Best part is you can put locks on the sides for security. I looked everywhere for an affordable case that you can fit 2 guns in if needed. Nice "grided" out cubes to remove so you can perfectly fit you items or guns. Very satisfied, if your reading this- buy it!

This case is just as nice as my friends pelican case at half the price, so far it has seen 2 range trips and a flight complete with tsa screening (they made me come open the case because their scanners couldn't see through it. Very solid rigid design and fit 2 full size autos (FNP-45 and Sig P226) plus 4 mags and 3 boxes of 45 acp layered with one layer of foam removed. (UPDATE 09/21/2013) I have since flown 2 more times with this case and both times the tsa was able to scan it and did not require me to open it, still in perfect condition and still satisfied.

What a great case! I order the Vault Case for my husband and the Aluminum Framed Locking Gun Pistol Case for me. I'm jealous. the Vault Case is nice to carry around and keeps everything tight and secure. Well worth the money and more. Be aware I only bought one master lock, but you should definitely buy two (2) since there are hold on each side not one dead center. You can use it to guard your weapons or the precious iPad either way its a great value.
