Awesome tree stand.
So sturdy. Great weight and solid design. We have no worries that are young son or cats will make the tree tip over. Best tree stand.

Worth the money, 15 years and still looks like new.
After years of using those cheap sheetmetal stands with a shallow bowl for a base, and dealing with their problems and instability, I had the screw holes strip out and had to buy another stand. The only one they had at the store that wasn't cheap flimsy plastic or another shoddy sheetmetal stand like I was tossing was the Santa's Sturdy Tree Stand. It was expensive at $40. But it was that or spend $20 on another junky one. That was back in 1999. I have used that same Santa's Sturdy Stand ever since, with big and small trees. I don't regret spending the money! Buy quality and cry once, or buy cheap and cry over and over. Plus it knocks down just by pushing the spring buttons on the legs and stores easily on a shelf in the garage until next year.It has withstood assaults by my cats and dogs and little kids. It holds trees stable and secure. It only holds about a gallon of water but if you check and refill it every couple days it's fine. I use a regular bottled water bottle to fill the stand and it might take a few trips from empty. People complaining about how hard it is to fill are really making a big deal about a small issue. I would much rather trade a wide shallow bowl for the deep and strong base of the Santa's Sturdy Stand. The threads of the eyebolts do get some sap and corrosion, and I finally took a wire brush to the threads and coated them with some anti-seize lube and no further problems with sticking. A very very minor problem and one every stand can get.

Built like a tank but you'll need to hire elves to do the watering
Sturdy as heck but jeeze, how are you supposed to water the tree ? It's made from Heavy duty steel which you'd expect for this price. It's plenty stable although time will tell if the four legs lie flat on the ground for it's lifespan. The trick is you have very little room between the tree trunk and the rim of the stand. You almost need something like a beer bong (funnel with a long plastic tube) to water the tree. Forget knowing it's low on water, you're getting on your back and sticking your hand down inside to know if it's dry. And if it does, good luck tipping any type of watering can enough to pour water in there. I can't wait till I can teach my kids to do this chore so I no longer smell like a tree from scraping my head through branches to get the damn water in there.Otherwise it's great. It'll probably last forever and I'll always fear using it.

Very durable, but...
On the plus side, it's the sturdiest stand I've ever used. The problem is that it makes watering the tree a complete pain, and since reservoir is so tiny you'll need to water the tree a minimum of once or twice a day. My family planned to going skiing for a couple days and I have to worry about the tree drying out and dying on me since the reservoir is so small. Similar to the other poster, I find the reservoir a challenge to fill. The most successful method is to use a water bottle (similar to one you'd use for bicycling) with a nozzle and squirt the water in. With a tree in the stand, the reservoir only holds about 25 to 30 ounces of water. Do not fill it up to the bracing screws or the water will leak out through the threads, and you'll end up with a puddle under your tree. Bear that in mind because it's difficult to insert a finger and check the water level.

Solid, will be the last one you buy
Great stand, ours is 20+ years oldOne comment- you MUST attach it to a base if your tree is big/heavy. The 'legs' can bend. We generally have an 11-12ft tree each season.

This is a winner
This product is a five star winner.I have had real Christmas trees for 25 years. For 20 years I used a series of midpriced stands. Every year, unless the tree was tiny, the question was "would the stand hold the tree". 5 years ago I bought this stand. It handles every tree we have bought since, including some ten-footers. I have never had a problem finding a way to get water into the stand. Just use something with a spout of some sort. In terms of water capacity - if you buy a tree whose trunk literally fills the stand cylinder, then, no, there will not be much room left over for water. Just not a big problem in my world. You may need to water it twice a day for the first few days, then the tree gets less thirsty, and once a day is enough. After a while yes the tree starts to dry out, but seriously, how long do you keep a tree up - two months ?!?To repeat, this tree stand works great. It will safely keep a tall and heavy tree upright. What else are you really looking for in a stand??

Best tree stand ever!
We have used this tree stand for 20+ years for some 11 ft trees! We have cats and have had our children grow up with it. We have never had to tie a tree up and it even handled a tree that ended up being very lopsided! Yes, you have to get down on your hands and knees to water it. I use a long thin spouted watering can and I water twice a day. I was on this site to see if we could still find one just in case we needed another one. Glad to see this product is still made. So worth the price as you will never need to buy another tree stand ever.
