WORKS GREAT SO FAR
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These work all through the night and lately we have been having rain for the last few days and they are still lighting with no direct sunlight only dark clouds. One day it was completely raining from sunup to sundown and I did not think they would light at all, but they did and were still working 8 hours later when I went to bed. I have them on my wood fence outside my front door and have the solar panel attached at the top of the fence.UPDATE: SO DISAPPOINTED IN THESE. Well, these did not even last 4 months. Another set that I had by another company lasted 2 years. Looks like the solar panel that is on top is breaking all apart. Evidently not meant for hot weather we have down in South Louisiana.

Work great + Eco-friendly!
First things first...These are solar-powered lights, so they have drawbacks that electric-powered lights do not have. For example, if you have a cloudy day, your lights will probably not make it through the night. Additionally, they do not put out as bright a light as electric models. However, for solar-powered lights, these rate five stars. And for me, their drawbacks are far outweighed by their electricity savings and environmental friendlinessBut, here are some tips to to deal with their drawbacks:(1) For added brightness, wrap the lights very tight rather than fully extending the string. At 72 feet, the string is pretty long. I have about ~15 foot-long railings leading up a stairway to my front door, which itself is 10 feet tall. I wrapped a strings very closely along the length of each of those railings, and still had plenty of room to run the string fairly up the side of my front door so that the two strings met in the middle at the top. In my opinion, the lights are plenty bright that close together.(2) For longer lasting light, make sure the solar panels are in a place where they receive the longest exposure to the sun. They have a decent lead from the beginning of the lights, so extend the lead out as far away from your house as possible. And, if you're home (like on the weekend), move them to receive more light in the evening. Even on cloudy days, I've never had them turn off before midnight.(3) For longer lasting light, turn them on "Flashing" mode. It saves energy, so after a cloudy day, the lights will last longer. One final note - they have a sensor so they ONLY light up when it's dark. I made the mistake of thinking mine were broken at first because I thought when I pressed the "ON" button they were supposed to come on right away. Pressing the "ON" button just turns the sensor on. You cannot make them turn on before the light gets low enough outside.

Best buy in solar lights!!!
I have been decorating our double back deck, backyard and arbor for years with solar lights, color changing stake lights and mobiles. Our backyard is a real fairy land which is greatly enjoyed by neighbors, friends and family. Neighbors are adopting the idea too. These nice long strings of tiny lights on green cords disappear on plants and trees nicely until night when they light up. I've even put them on my nine huge tomato plants that are in 20 gallon buckets on the deck. The only thing to watch for is to be sure the chargers have good sunlight exposed, I.e. move leaves from covering chargers as plants grow. I've put them on my Asian pear trees too. Beautiful!I highly recommend these Love these mini solar lights!

Worked well for approx 1 month last year. Do Not Recommend <======
UPDATE: These worked pretty well last XMas season. I did notice before taking them down they acted a little weird. One year later I set them up again (both strands). As a side note, these were stored with the batteries removed. This year I installed new batteries for the start of the season. It wasn't long before the RED & YELLOW lights on both strands started flickering, then eventually dimming. I thought maybe I had bad batteries and put in new batteries, didn't help. I do have a video as proof, trying to upload. The Amazon app is giving me issues. Love these lights, picked up 2 multicolored, 1 warm white. The LEDS are small yet very bright. Easy to work around the garland. My only small issue is that the box emits bright lights even when off and on a timer. To save the batteries I don't use the timer anymore. My garland is 9ft, 1 set was used. Lights weren't wrapped around the garland prior to hanging. Batteries were purchased from the dollar store and it takes about 2 weeks to kill the batteries. Lights are on every night for maybe 5-6hrs.

with a ton of great settings, most importantly the ability to run for ...
After a trip to Belgium, where we marveled at all the LED string lights everywhere, we went on a mission to find the equivalent in the states. Most of our lights are either the old incandescent bulb style, or just a conversion of that old (fat) housing with LEDs in place of the old bulb. The ones in Europe we noticed were tiny in comparison, with the LED itself being the widest part, rather than fitting into a wider housing (old-school style), and these are perfectly that! This also comes with a battery pack that serves as a control unit, with a ton of great settings, most importantly the ability to run for 6 hours, every 24 hours. Perfect for and evening patio! As the batteries fade, the light gets dim, and in my opinion, this is where the lights look the best - like tiny pinpoints of light. I'll be attempting to hook these up to a solar panel and replicate the voltage of dying batteries :p

Want them constant on? You'll need to reset them EVERY NIGHT! Keep looking.
They could be wonderful lights. But you have ZERO control over the mode. We want them constant on. After cycling through the 8 modes, it will stay, but you have to do it again and again every single night! FRUSTRATING. I have not found a way to correct this problem. Great looking lights, too bad the execution of it stinks. I'll be returning these.

For the one day they worked, I loved them but the second night more than half of one strand is out. It's a great length and I love the different modes but totally disappointed.

stopped working after 1 week
after one week the lights have gotten real dim and not very noticeable. The batteries are new. Now the controller stopped working and the unit won't turn on. I am getting a refund. Poor quality control. You may be luckier than I if you are a gambler.
