Very interesting and useful book.

ESL students want to understand American culture as well as the language, and this book helps them do both. A lighthearted way for them to get some "inside information" about American life and lingo. Recommended

Riddles are OK, but the book is too small, one can read it in 20 minutes, + time to guess answers - 1 hour and then...you can use it only once, you remember all the answers and the logic behind them.

Good for ESL

I can see that this book would be helpful to someone trying to learn English. A native speaker will find very little of interest here.

中には抱腹絶倒物があります。楽しく読めて英語の感覚が次第に分ってきます。makeを通常の意味と使役動詞の意味で引っ掛ける等、英語ならでは、日本語に訳しようの無い感覚です。あえて注文をつけるとすると、なぞなぞの問題の直ぐ下に答えを匂わせる絵が書いてあることで、これがなかったら結構考えさせられ、もっと面白いと思います。この１０１シリーズはすべて絵が面白いのでほかのものもお勧めです。
