This will allow bit changes above the table. **Q: Does the kreg prs5000 lift fit to the bosch 1617evs router** A: Out of total frustration of not being able to fit either my DeWalt 618 or my Bosch 1617 router into the lift (and in spite of completely removing the motor-clamp screw), I went down to the hardware store and got 2 bolts of the same thread size and length but without the slightly larger shoulder. I replaced 2 adjacent shouldered bolts with the ones without shoulders. I also removed the spacer in the motor-clamp screw so I could tighten the clamp enough. Now either router fits. Everything's nice and snug. **Q: I have a Craftsman 1749. Will it fit?** A: Unfortunately, we have not tested the system on the Craftsman 1749. Easy to install and remove the router. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good lift at a good price *by W***K on April 11, 2018* I just bought this in anticipation of getting a larger and more powerful router motor for my table. The problem was that I was not yet ready to upgrade the motor and wanted something with which I could continue to use my Porter-Cable 890 series until I made a decision as to what to replace it with. Other lifts in this price range could do this for me with the additional purchase of adapter blocks or rings. This unit accepts a wide range of sizes without the need to buy anything extra. I can use it with my present motor and when I upgrade, I can remove the lift, remove four screw pins, move the clamp blocks to different settings and I will be good to go in about ten minutes. The quality of the build is what I would expect from Kreg. Very smooth and solid. The only quibble I have is the plastic wrench provided for changing inserts seems a bit flimsy. One other thing to note is that there is no provision for leveling the lift plate from the top. It is designed to be use with Kreg plate levelers which are installed on the bottom of the table in the corners of the cutout. Not a deal killer, as they are less than twenty bucks and install very easily. The downside to this system is that one has to remove/replace the lift multiple times to adjust the set screws to get the plate exactly flush with the table OR you can leave the lift in the table and work upside down under the table and throw your neck out doing it.
