JEEP TJ 8.8 SWAP KIT AND TRUSS

I ordered this kit and it came within four days. We just put it in this weekend. It went together as promised. I know that I used the 8.8 kit on a Dana 44 however they are Virtually identical axle housing. I did have to modify Small part of the bracket on the edge of the housing. Then I had to build a bracket so I could weld it to the pumpkin. Turned out great!!!Couple tips. Weld the spring Perches first before you assemble the truss. The vertical gussets Need to be tacked to the housing. Then you can slide the truss on and off until everything is perfect. Make sure your vent tube is in place before welding. I cut a new hole in the truss when I mocked it up. Lastly, the shock mounts are to be mounted based upon your old axle. I slide a bolt through the lower control arm bracket and made a small jig to hold it in place for welding. Worked great.And no I’m not friends with someone at Barnes 4wd. I’m just an old fabricator that is building a TJ with my son.

Heavy duty for sure, everything will need welded together as it all comes in pieces.Comes with directionsHaving everything key off of the truss made everything so easy.Was able to slap this together with a 90 amp welder from harbor freight. Buy plenty of wire. No issues with welds so far.Will need to relocate breather tube.The abs plug can be blocked off or left in, this truss clears the sensor and ears.I set my pinion angle to 15* with an SYE and no lift, plan to lift soon/when installing axle. My current no lift axle is at 10*.Fits OEM jeep sway barThe track bar bracket (depending on lift) will need the excess holes cut off or damage will occur, warning in the directions.

The truss works just as described, everything lined up fairly easy. It does come fully dissambled. You must do all of the welding yourself, this makes it easier to install.
