BistoGranules : Chip Shop Curry Sauce

This is so flavorful ! I am so glad i got some.

I love the Bisto line of products and bought this out of curiosity. I absolutely love it on Tater Tots!

In England Chinese food is Hong Kong style which is more of an hybrid of British and Chinese Food, there’s no better demonstration of this than curry sauce and chips. There’s a Chinese takeaway near my parents house in England that has the best curry sauce and chips I’ve ever had, admittedly there’s a lot of other takeaways that has great curry sauce and there’s plenty that have great chips but getting them both right is an art in itself. This sauce of course in no way compares, but for some reason I’ve always been a fan, mainly because I don’t take it too seriously. If You want something closer to an authentic taste the best available is the Mayflower Chinese sauce mix. McConnells is good, but it’s closer to Indian curry than Chinese which is what this sauce mix attempts to recreate. I’m not much of a curry snob and tend to cycle through them all, including the house brand. These sauces are what they are, nothing recreates the experience of walking out of the takeaway with a warm parcel of Chinese curry sauce and chips on a cold night watching coronation street.

Perfect addition to some fish and chips

Pretty authentic, although I am a yank. Could be a little more "curryish".

The taste is ok, I wouldn't say it was like the chip shop curry sauce I am used to in the UK. Its worth a try

Couldn't be easier. Just mix with hot water and pour on your chips. Flavour was deemed authentic by anglophile offspring. Also great on burgers and nachos.

Had a craving for curry and chips. This takes me back to when I used to hit the English pub in my home town. Thankfully the delivery was quick.
