Sunrise Alarm Clock
This review is for the Sunrise Alarm Clock, Digital Alarm Clock, Wake Up Light with 6 Nature Sounds, FM Radio and Touch Control, LED Display Color Changing Night Light for Kids and Heavy Sleepers (White)I purchased this on 10/10/18. I got one for me and one for my daughter. The set up was easy. It uses batteries as a backup and usb. It comes with the usb cord but not the wall outlet. The set up was easy and simple (following the instructions).I do love the nature sounds. I set the beach waves for me and classic piano for her.I included one photos of the colors and when the clock is changing colors. They are very VERY bright colors. I’m talking NEON bright. It’s enough to wake you up or keep you awake.Update:Dropped to two stars. The numbers on the on clock are as bright as the neon colors. There’s no way to dim them to a “resting” color.I have to put mine face down to even sleep. You can turn off the numbers showing but the alarm will not go off.The numbers have to stay on for the alarm to work.My daughter loves it. Me, not so much. There’s no way to dim any of the lights. It’s is perfect for kids espeutif the use a nightlight.

Ambient Weather RC-8461 Jumbo Atomic Digital
My main purpose in purchasing this clock was it's Atomic capability and size. When I first attempted to use it, I could not get the clock to receive a signal even though it was next to a clock that did. Other Atomic clocks I own, however, were also having problems. The time screen also had several small defects in the LCD that were quite annoying at close distance, but were only slightly noticeable from 5 or six feet away. I was willing to overlook it if the Atomic clock worked. I was getting ready to return it when I decided to experiment a little. One nice feature it has is a separate button that will turn the Atomic Clock off and on. By holding the button for several seconds, it is turned off. After it is turned off, if you depress and hold the button for several seconds it turns back on and searches for a signal for 8 minutes. The icon on the right side of the screen is actually a signal strength meter. I was able to move around the house and see in real time where the best reception areas were located. As it turns out, all my clocks work better in those locations. As I am a currency trader the accuracy of my clocks is extremely important. The clocks now all sync up to exact time. I decided to keep the clock as long as the small LCD defects don't get any worse.

A Zoom Eyepiece that finally equals the best fixed focal length units!
When it comes to telescope lenses, the traditional wisdom for decades has been that a zoom lenses cannot match the same view you can see from a fixed focal length eyepiece. This was because many design sacrifices were often made in the past and the zoom units had to make tradeoffs in order to have a decent feature set and come in at a reasonable price. This often made their quality poor and as a result, their seeing was not up to the level offered by high end fixed focal length units. In 2001, Baader released their first higher end zoom lenses and then a second version in 2007 that corrected for some of the original's flaws. However, even with those excellent units, the general consensus was that the Baader zooms were very good but just a tad bit below the imaging level of truly high end eyepieces like the Televue Naglers or Panoptics. That was until 2010, when Baader released this Hyperion Mark III Click Stop Zoom. This latest Mark III Zoom eyepiece is a seven element unit that is made of finely tuned glass with multiple coatings and flocked interior side walls. This Baader unit can go from a 24 mm focal length with a 50 deg apparent field of view (AFOV) down to an 8 mm focal length with a 68 deg AFOV. Not only does any other zoom lenses on the market not match that, but it is better than the AFOV that you receive in many high quality fixed focal length Plossls. It is also very nice that this zoom unit includes little clicks (and stops) when you go from one focal length to the next, as this is a nice feature that is often absent in most other astronomy zoom lenses. As to the viewing, when I first purchased my Baader, I was unsure of how it would stand up to high quality eyepieces made by firms like Televue and Explore Scientific. And since I did not have $700 to purchase a high end Televue Ethos eyepiece sample, I took the next best step and went to a star party. I ended up setting my Orion XT10g next to a 63 year old veteran amateur telescope maker with a home built 16 inch Dobsonian, who also happened to have a roughly $3000 eyepiece collection. Including many nice Televue pieces. So, later in the evening, with his permission, I compared apples to apples, my Baader Mark III Zoom (about $255) at 8mm to his fixed focal length Televue Ethos (about $570) at 8 mm. (for my Orion XT10G with a focal length of 1200 mm, this gives me 150x of magnification) When I turned both eyepieces on Jupiter, I was extremely hard pressed to tell any difference. The Ethos had a much wider AFOV and a bubble like effect (as if you were looking out of the window of a spaceship) while the Baader has a flat field. The Ethos was also better corrected at the far edge of the field of view (which is important if you are pushing your scope by hand or your scope is not some type of GoTo model). But, as far as actually discerning details such as the cloud bands of Jupiter or the Great Red Spot, they were just about dead even. And as the night wore on, I tested the Baader against several very expensive Televue Ethos, Delos, Nagler and Explore Scientific eyepieces to usually find that the differences at the center of the field of view were very, very tiny. About 50% of the time, I felt the fixed focal length pieces were showing me a tiny bit more detail and 50% of the time, I felt the Baader Zoom was superior. I really could not tell much of a difference. I am a relative new guy to amateur astronomy and am told that my ability to "see" will grow, but with my abilities so far, I felt the Baader Zoom was a very equal competitor while observing. That is how close the Baader Zoom is to the level of truly high end eyepieces in my humble opinion. When you combine that excellent viewing ability with the ease of simply adjusting the barrel to zoom up or down in magnification (and with no need to change out eyepiece) you see that it means more time on target and less time futzing around with changing out eyepieces in the dark. It is wonderful to find a target at 24mm and then zoom up on it to 8 mm. The Baader Mark III is not exactly parfocal, so you do have to adjust your focuser a little bit as you zoom in or out, but only by a little bit. And that also means this a really nice unit to use with children as well. They can simply turn the zoom barrel and then turn the focuser a bit to view a celestial target under different magnifications. A very nice feature which my five year old son loves. The Baader Hyperion Mark III Zoom also comes with lens cups for the top and bottom of the eyepiece and a light guard for the top as well. The package also includes a 1.25 inch adapter and a 2 inch adapter which is great along with several other lock rings to use with Cannon or Nikon cameras. There is even a leather carrying pouch for the eyepiece. This zoom lens also meshes perfectly with Baader's new 2.25x Barlow lenses that screws into the bottom. And now that I have this zoom lenses and its matching Barlow, I can reach magnifications from 50x all the way to 337x, and I have pretty much everything I need from an eyepiece. As to negatives, there really aren't any. I can say the Baader Hyperion Mark III is pretty heavy at about 1.2 pounds. It is a big eyepiece, and as such, is not going to do as well on smaller scopes. Yes, you can put this on a 80mm refractor, but you will need magnets to help balance out the optical tube or you will have problems. Also, I really wish Baader would have included a few detailed illustrations or some instructions to help show how all the rings and adapters work for specific uses. Most people can figure it out on their own but a few pages of instruction would have been so much better.Aside from those small omissions, this Baader Hyperion 8-24 mm Mark III Zoom lenses is fantastic. Because the views are so good and I no longer need to change out eyepieces, I am not sure I will ever buy another eyepiece again. Borrow, ... yes. Buy, .... perhaps not. Easily five stars!

Exceptional quality ~ Best zoom lens that I've ever owned
I was very reluctant to purchase this for use with my Celestron C5. Even when I called up Celestron technical support, they advised against using it.All I can say is that the quality of the image is unsurpassed, regardless of how far I zoom in or out. It's truly impressive that one eye piece could accomplish so many things. I thought for sure that there would be significant degrading of the image at the 8mm setting, but such is not the case. The bottom line is that this single eyepiece has replaced all the other ones that I was using. In addition, since it has click stops, it enables me to precisely hone in on whatever my target may be. Also, since it's a single eyepiece, it eliminates the need to constantly change lenses. This is something that is extremely important when you're trying to follow moving targets. It's a great lens, worthy of 5 stars.
