Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Master the Experience!: Prima Official Game Guide

After almost 40 years, the COVID confinement conduced me to pick up again MS Flight Simulator, this time the FSX Steam edition, and really needed a refreshement and update on almost every detail of the fantastic game. This book has been an important aid on getting me to speed with the program and also serves as a consulting manual. Overall, it's a very good read and frequent help at the same time. Recommended.

This book is a very good, rank beginner introduction to MS FSX. It seems to get polarized reviews, perhaps owing to disappointment that it is quite basic. I almost did not buy it, but it was the only book on the market, so I jumped in and I am very satisfied with the manual. It helped me get started with FSX, which is a very complex piece of software. I had no previous flight sim experience. There are detailed instructions and graphics, and the book provides a good overview of the FSX environment. There are about the average number of typos for a software instruction manual, and I did not find them distracting. So I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is new to MS Flight Simulator and wants to get off the ground.

Came in decent quality as expected for the price. The guide itself is fantastic, with tons of useful and interesting information for flight Sims in general really.

There are many typographical errors. Even worse, the airspeed info is often inaccurate. For example, on page 107, the Boeing 737-800 is listed with a cruising speed of 477 kt but when you read the next line it states that the maximum speed is 147 kt.On pages 86-87, the specs for the Mooney Bravo show the cruising speed of 195 kt. But when you look at the V-speed reference the max cruising speed is show as 174 kt with a Vne of 195 kt.This book was a waste of money.

This is the best Flight Simulator Game out there i give it 5 stars because you don't really have to know about flying to play this game. I wish it was more add-on planes included.

Thought was game

So what you'd hoped for was a book written by someone who was an experienced user, and could tell you the little wrinkles and 'tips' that you need to know and which would save you hours of searching through the different sections and screens of MSFX.BAD NEWS, THIS BOOK IS NOT IT. THIS BOOK IS NOT THE ONE YOU NEED.This book is not something you'd have beside you as a reference 'help me' as you develop your 'flying' skills in MSFX. At best this book is 'advertising' eye candy.Another is how do you find out if there is any way to write/store the radio frequencies, and add VFR reference points (visual clues you're on the right course) to your flight plan? Who knows? There should be but this book wont tell you.I could go on. I've been getting to grips with my version of MSFX for a fortnight now (about which later) and this book does not provide a single answer to any of the questions I wanted/needed answering and contains no advice worth the name. But it does have some nice pictures, and its all very positive.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Master the...Bart Farkasa reasonable good book for anyone who uses flightsim 2004 otherwise known as fs9 it is well written and it is useful for learning the ropes in fs 2004
