We live in Central Minnesota next to a lake. This winter we have experienced a wide range of forms of precipitation, from freezing rain and sleet to wet, slushy snow and powdery snow together with varying temperatures that have caused periods of melting and freezing. Our sidewalks, streets and driveway are coated with ice, sometimes covered with snow, which makes walking treacherous. We have an energetic 4 year-old lab who loves to walk, so I had to find a good, safe way to get out with him. These Icebugs are the perfect solution. I feel absolutely confident about walking anywhere, including on the lake. They are lightweight and nearly waterproof. I have struggled with clumsy, heavy studded rubber ice-walking attachments in the past. I love the ease of putting on these shoes. I purchased one size up to accomodate wool socks. The only downside to these shoes is the scratchy noise they make when I walk on asphalt. It doesn't bother me unless I am having a conversation while walking. I like them so much that I purchased another pair of Icebug tall boots to walk in deeper snow. Great investment! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I made it a point to run on the worst ice, and THEY WORK *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2017* I live in NW Wyoming. The ice is too dangerous to wear regular running shoes. I ordered these a size up to allow for wool socks. The uppers are very hard, and the toe crease is harsh. I have extremely narrow feet, so they are a bit wide on me, and the toe crease was probably exaggerated by that. Both problems were solved with an extra pair of socks. I made it a point to run on the worst ice, and THEY WORK!!! My feet stayed totally dry, and I felt completely at ease running on solid ice. I recommend these for anybody who is running is slick or icy terrain.
