The Essential Life - 5th Edition

I've just received this book and couldn't believe how much information it has! Starting from all illnesses, individual oils and blends, and even recipes! All with pictures!

I'm happy with the purchase of this book. It came quickly and in good condition. It's going to be a big resource in our wellness library.

Oh my goodness! You want this book! If you are interested at all in essential oils, this is THE book for you. First of all, it is a hard back book and it has PICTURES!!! You can look up the oil or the medical condition and figure out how to go about dealing with it with the oils. There are recipes or 'concoctions ' as I call them.. lol for making multi-oil rollers or diffusers. <-- I love that part right there. When I pick up this book, I usually settle in with a large glass of sweet tea and a snack , because I will be there a while.

This book has everything you’ll ever want to know about essential oils, how to use them, where to put them, what conditions they treat. It breaks it down by essential oil and then by ailment. This is my new essential oil go to

I love this book! If you're wondering if you need it, you do! If you're wondering if it's worth the money, it is, every cent. You will not find a better book. From a quick guide to explaining techniques, usage, safety, recipes and solutions (that actually work). Just do it, you can thank me later.

A 4-Star Rating: I ordered a used "5th" edition but got a 2nd edition. That's a Seller problem, not a Product problem, and even so, it would have been OK, but the Index in the 2nd edition is off, and looking specific things up is extremely frustrating, especially as the information is scattered throughout the book. I contacted the company and asked if they had a correct index for the 2nd edition, but they do not. I haven't become familiar enough with the book yet to find my way around in it easily and the hunt can be maddening - especially as this is a HEAVY, hard-to-handle book. I have post-it stickies all over the pages and finally just started making myself note-cards. EDIT - I've found that much of the information is vague - a list of oils, but no specific blend or recipe. The recipes that they've actually included are great.A 5-Star Rating: The actual recipes that "The Essential Life" has for making specific blends are dandy. It gets a 4-Star rating because while the Information is GOOD, it's hard to put together into useful blends. I would not return this book - the blend for Nerve Damage has eased my sciatic pain to next-to-nothing, and I've learned a LOT about ailments and oils. I don't know if I would recommend "The Essential Life" as it's so much easier to look up the information online - but if you do get it, make sure you get the 5th edition!

For the beginner or more advanced user of essential oils, this is a fantastic reference. It was recommended to me as THE best book on the use of essential oils and I have been delighted with the information it contains. It isn't a "sit down and read it cover to cover in 1 day", but is an excellent desk reference, with information on how to use essential oils, which essential oils to use for specific issues, and a compatibility reference for those wishing to create their own blends. I would say that this book is an "Essential" reference for the library of every essential oils user.
