Civil PE Professional Engineer Exam Geotechninal Module Perfect Paperback – June 17, 2009

I feel that with only 3 years experience as a geotechnical engineer practicing for my PE exam, I could have written a book that has better/more organized content, less typos, and more complicated example problems. The entire book looks like you could have written it using only microsoft word in about 2 months time. The example problems were elementary. If these are what exam problems will consist of on the PE exam, then I feel that engineers are not being challenged enough to practice professionally (God help us all). Otherwise, these problems will not prepare you enough for the actual exam. This is my first review book, so I'll have to see how the others compare. Maybe the exam IS this easy.

This is a great book to study for the afternoon part of the PE exam in geotechnical engineer. It covers most of the topics with simple examples. The topics are not covered in great depth, but in general it gives enough information to answer the geotechnical questions of the PE Exam. One drawback, the book does not have many examples or exercises.

This book does not have much useful information. It appears it has topic-to topic coverage. However, most of them don't have a in-depth and wide coverage; some are just limited to a topic line. I bought this book and felt I could get nothing from this book during exam. Most likely you will have to buy other book for you PE preparation, and then this book will become waste of money. Bottom line is You can not reply on this book for your geotechnical PE reparation.

THIS BOOK DIRECTLY COST ME ONE QUESTION ON THE PE EXAM. I found out after the exam that there is false information on at least one topic in this book.

The book is superbly laid out and easily followed. It is an invaluable tool, not only for prep for the PE exam, but for college level classes. I would recommend to anyone.
