Looks ok if a little flimsy but it was nearly impossible to separate the 2 halves. It took 2 of us over an hour and we tried everything it was really stuck. I contacted the company just before we managed to separate it and they said they would replace. I was honest with them and said we HAD managed to do it but it was extremely tight and looked faulty and there was a distinct possibility if we paid for it fitted it would jam up on the wall. They didn't respond and they didn't reply!!!. Hence the review, it's still in the box.

I purchased 2 of these. They look nice but I have not been able to get either one open. Instructions say to twist counter clockwise but there is nothing to hold on to so you cant twist the top without somehow getting the bottom of it to not move. Once mounted it would probably be reasonably easy as the base would be mounted to the wall/roof and there would be leverage but I cant get into it to even mount it. Will be returning.

We have a number of 2-D fluorescent fittings that are starting to fail. These make good replacements- they take standard E27 LED or CF lamps which are cheaper, easier to find in shops, and give a wider range of colour and brightess options. The main drawback is that the light spread is less even due to the shadow of the bulb holder inside.The installation instructions are misleading: to open, twist the frosted part in the direction of the 'OPEN=>' arrow moulded on the rim of the base (the diagram shows this correctly). It is quite tight and hard to get a grip, but easier once it is fixed in place.

Easy enough to install, although a little tricky marking the holes in the right place, especially as I was fitting this on the ceiling.Does not fit flush and leaves about 1cm between wall and light.A little tricky to open initially but easy enough with some rubber gloves.

Sturdy unit that is suitably tough to open, especially as the instructions are wrong and say to open it anti-clockwise. Follow the arrow on the moulding and twist it clockwise.

Easy to fit cables and terminals seemed decent. There’s not much choice for this kind of light but I’m glad I found it. 5*
