Tekky Animated Lunging Pumpkin Carver Halloween Prop

So we got this for an upcoming Halloween party we will be throwing later and decided to put it together and ensure everything works. We put it together and turned it on only to hear loud clicking and clacking along with what looked like a gear slipping. Sure enough there was a GIANT red sticker stating exactly what was going on - that we had something obstructing the way of the arm for the doll to move backwards. We literally just put the thing together and there were no obstructions so we immediately assumed it was broken or we didn't put it together correctly. We spent about half an hour trying to figure out why it was stripping and jerking back and forth trying to reset. We stepped away from it for a while and assembled the lunging spider we had also purchased. About 20 seconds in to the assembly we noted a sticker over the power switch on the spider one that stated how to assemble the lunging spring - something our pumpkin prop lacked. Returned to the Pumpkin prop and did the same instructions here and everything went well - or so we thought. Only about 10 or so uses in the motor no longer seemed to function. The girl was remained forward and would not come back to the "sitting" position. No mechanical "whirring" could be heard and the motor did not seem to be engaging at all. I then took the thing apart a day later and found the connector for the motor had been completely disconnected somehow. I assume it was from the jolting back and forth from normal operation... Plugged in the connector again, and hot-glued it in place and it was good as new.Overall the product itself is fine, but the experience of assembly and having to fix things that should have been working out of the box, lack of pretty significant instructions for critical components of the prop, and having bad quality control on the connectors was pretty off-putting. It works now, and that's good, but I don't feel that this thing deserves a 5-star review due to the trouble I had to go through just to get the thing to work correctly.Some things to save anyone who might be struggling:- There are 2 springs that attach to 2 corresponding rollers on the arm - they do not stand free or go "inside" the arm. This will only potentially damage the unit.- if you do not hear any motor spinning up after the girl says "I'm gonna carve YOU!!" or after the scene ends, then check the connectors, as yours might have come loose as well.- If you hear constant motor spinning, ensure the black monetary switch on the SIDE of the control box is actually engaging with the position lever (Cone shaped lever). Our seemed to have moved a bit and no longer engaged.

Let me start off saying that the product works great but... When it arrived the delivery person left the box at my garage door and not my front porch. This wouldn't be that bad but it was raining when I got home. I opened the box to make sure that the rain had not gotten to the item, it had not.The wig that Tekky uses for the hair was not attached but it was at some point because the glue line was st in on the items head. Also, the knife was unattached and just hanging by a wire. Again... you can see where it was glued.I was able to repair the hair and knife but the delivery person leaving it out exposed was not acceptable. I never had this issue when FedEx was delivering.

Many a kid and parents a like soiled their undergarments on Halloween this year when they stopped by our house, thanks to this murderous little girl.It’s really easy to assemble and runs off AC power or AA batteries. One word of advice is that you’ll need to weigh her down with more than just the sandbag provided in the packaging. I used a brick as well, or if you have her setup in the grass, you can stake her down. I’m not kidding, she really jumps forward. She’s out for blood.I almost forgot, you can also attach a speaker to the unit via an AUX cable so you can really pump up the volume.

This animatronic is everything and more, details on her are great! You know what she is going to do, but gets you everytime. Cant wait to set her up for our Halloween party!!! We are so glad we added her to our collection.

Great purchase! My children love it. Works very well over and over again. Shipped fast and was in perfect condition. Not one problem or complaint!

Ordered this two months ago for Halloween. Just took it out of the box and her hair came right off the glue and she won’t jump forward. Since I ordered it early I missed the window to return it. Seeing as though this was an expensive prop I’m really disappointed
