Do you remember Pillsbury Space Food sticks? They were, AFAIK, the original protein bar/energy bar that kicked off all the others. We had when we were kids and men were walking on the moon. They were on the market maybe 10 years, then they were gone. Except...Maybe 15-20 years ago, my wife and I were in Orlando, and we went to watch a space shuttle launch, and I bought a few at the NASA gift shop. They were made in Australia by Nestle Starz, but they looked, felt, and tasted authentic. Next time I saw them was the Houston space museum. The Ozzy ones were off the market, so they had switched to a US supplier that was just awful. Imagine a flat, sticky Tootsie-roll.So, I was googling madly for a supplier of the real deal. No luck.Recipe? No luck.Replacement? No luck except a brief mention that the closest someone had come was the ZonePerfect Chocolate Chip cookie dough bar. Put it out of my mind. One day, I saw them in the French Boutique (you know, Targét) and bought a box. They looked all wrong, of course, but my inner child was jumping for joy over the taste and texture. Well, I just had to try rolling some of them into ersatz Space Food sticks. Sorta works, but they’re a bit "ropey" (and thank you, Apple, for what you tried to turn "ropey" into). Roll them, refrigerate them a bit, and much better.So, until someone starts making real ones again, or I get ahold of a good recipe, these are what I munch when nostalgic.

So I found these by accident, and I am so glad that I did! I eat lunch at 11:30am and dinner at 4:30, but don't leave work or have a break until 8:30pm, so having a bar in between meals is so essential to staying productive. Additionally, my little one (8 going on 15!) is not only a picky eater but a very busy kid. Sometimes the only way to ensure he gets the protein he needs without having a big fight is to give him one of these bars. This is especially effective when we leave at 6am for a 7am hockey game-- he's not much of a eat-first-thing-in-the-morning kind of person, but he needs some protein before hockey, so this is a decent alternative.The flavor is fantastic. It's not too sweet, but sweet enough to entice a child to eat it if he/she is a picky eater. Additionally, this bar is sweet enough that it can be eaten as a sweet treat. I have found that a lot of protein bars have a dry, chalky taste and texture-- not this! It tastes like a mix between a Charlston Chew and fresh cookie dough.I highly recommend this product.

Flavor is decent. Rates up to most of any other bar in this category. Only thing I don’t like is I feel like I’m holding actual cookie dough. they smoosh Easy. Very soft. Taste very sweet though. My teeth are actually sensitive to them.

These are the best nutrition bars I have ever had (& I have had a LOT in my time!). Sooooo delicious and perfect for a meal substitute as it keeps me full until the next meal time. Would very highly recommend!

I really like these bars. They have a different texture than other bars from the same brand, but i honestly prefer the texture of his bar. It’s really tasty and doesn't have that fake protein chocolate taste. Perfect for lunch or a busy life style. Doesn’t upset my stomach or give me a weird energy crash either.

these are the best. better buy two boxes because the first one disappears. lol
