It is a nicely laminated fold-out pamphlet
I'm just getting into mushroom picking and ID. This is a really handy little pamphlet. It is not a book. It is a nicely laminated fold-out pamphlet. Folded out it is equivalent to about four double-sided letter-size sheets. There are nice color pics and brief descriptions of about fifty varieties of mushrooms. Edible varieties and dangerous ones. Won't even notice this in my pocket or pack, but it probably will help me bring home some new specimens to properly ID. This is not going to give you adequate info to positively ID or distinguish details, but it might just get you to bring home something new to look further into. It will be going with me for that purpose. I've seen some complaints that about it not being a book, but if you were to put in all of the knowledge and work to create this, you still couldn't go get one printed and laminated in this quality for the price.

Nice quick guide for hiking.
No, it's not a book.It is a nicely laminated pamphlet with common edible, and not edible mushrooms you can find hiking in the Pacific. As well as helpful info and knowledge about mushrooms. Nice compact for packing.

My second bought
I bought it a few years ago and I met the author Daniel at some PNW mushroom exhibition. He's a very nice and gentle guy. A fantastic reference for my backpacking trips. Bought the second one and send it as a gift to my friend.

Wish I got it sooner
Still come across alot of mushrooms I can't identify but living in the PNW you'd need a book as big as a dictionary! This has been a lifesaver for basic identification and brought my hunting to the next level! Laminated and lightweight makes it perfect for hiking in Oregon! I've even ordered a few more for friends!

Convienient and easy to carry
I've recently started mushroom hunting and this guide has come in handy while out in the woods. It has a coating over it so it doesn't get wet. It's colorful and has a lot of great info.

Must have mushroom ID guide for Eastern Oregon
One of the most helpful identification aids for my area in Eastern Oregon than any I've used. Edible mushrooms are shown as well as non-edible /poisonous lookalikes (which are described in enough detail to prevent accidentally harvesting the wrong ones). A must-have guide for all mushroom lovers.

I should've read the fine print.
Yep. You got me.Because I failed to read the fine print. This is a fold-out type of brochure that you get when you go to a state park for day-use. It just has a simple coating to keep it water-proof. Similar to the inside of a half-gallon milk carton.NOT A BOOK. It's a fold-out brochure that looks like a book.
