The Prince Nymph gets its name from its originator: Doug Prince. Depending on size, the Prince Nymph will imitate stone flies as well as mayfly nymphs. The peacock hurl body captures sunlight in a way that this nymph can become an effective attractor pattern in many different hatch situations. The beadhead adds additional weight for dropping the fly into the lower sections of the water column as well as aiding in delivering the fly deeper in faster water. This fly can be fished alone at a dead drift as well as used to swing at the end of the drift. The Prince Nymph is also effectively fished on multiple-nymph rigs as well as dropped behind a hopper pattern during the warmer months.
