Frances L. Goodrich's Brown Book of Weaving Drafts

My husband's aunt was just taking up weaving and going to a class so I thought this would make a great birthday present for her and she is very much into the arts and the history of things. This book is an amazing collection with an equally rich and wonderful backstory. I knew this was a homerun as a gift for her. Beautiful pictures and stories accompany the glorious vintage patterns. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the weaving arts, both novice and advanced.

Such a fantastic book about the history of weaving in the Appalachians. I love the stories and the drafts are amazing. I felt like I was the keeper of weaving history. Thank goodness these patterns were collected, saved, and so much work was taken to preserve our weaving history.Great book to read, great book of overshot patterns. I can't say enough.

Even though this book is "oldish", if you can decipher drafts, it is a treasure.
