In 1909, the companywas founded by Hermann Kastinger in Unterbuchberg near Salzburg and became known for itsproduction of customary women’s and men’s shoes, as well as climbing boots. Max Kastingertook over his father’s company and since then, Kastinger has established a place on the marketas one of the leading global manufacturers of ski boots and climbing boots. Therefore, from1974 onwards, the company began to support various mountain expeditions (e.g. to the mountainsof Pamir and of Karakorum or to the Himalayas).
