Direct lift of a hollywood film, "NO WAY OUT" ...
Charlie Direct lift of a hollywood film, "NO WAY OUT". Very surprised that a director so renowned as Martin Prakkat would stoop to this level. I came to know of this deception through a DVD, I bought from Amazon, "NO WAY OUT". It is a scene by scene lift of the hollywood movie. Proves the fact that there are no more original story lines in Malayalam. Feel sorry for the investors and distributors of the film. The surprising part as far as I am concerned, is that being a die-hard fan of Dulquer Salmaan, I play a cameo in the film. I play the father of one of the heroines in the film. Only a day's shoot. But boy!! Was I dumped when I saw the original Hollywood version.

HEART WARMING
Though I had my initial misgivings after the first 30 min but they were quickly dispelled once the storyline took concrete shape and culminated as a heart warming, soul stirring, feel good flick. No wonder DQ got the best actor's award. He lives and embodies the spirit of Charlie in this movie. Parvathi is one of the finest actresses in Malayalam cinema and who can forget the icing on the cake, the beautiful "Puthumazhayai" song sung by Shreya Ghoshal!!!

A must watch
A must watch movie. Very good quality. Even this has got DTS audio. Subtitles are written very well. Being a Bengali, I enjoyed almost all scenes.

Extremely Enjoyable
A wonderfully crafted story of an extremely different character, with a lot of hidden values. Dulquer Salmaan depicted the character with total dedication. A superb product where creativity converged.

Average Movie but Above Average Photography.
The movie is so-so. The story is not very enthusing. The protagonist (Charlie) is shown as a person who drinks a lot but does lot of good stuff. The movie drags along in the second half with several small incidents shown separately and then tied together in the end. Only best thing about this movie is its photography. The photographer has captured the Cochin city in its right spirit and has depicted many scenes in an artistic way.The room where the heroine stays and gets introduced to the hero, is very well captured and decorated.
