Just be sure to use this scribe BEFORE polishing the sides of the blade. The two metal posts that stick down on either side of the blade can scratch the bevel. I made that mistake the first time I used it. Also, the center line gets cut off near the tip of the blade because the two posts don't have any material to hang onto. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Other than that it's a great product, I highly reccomend it. I am curious to see how long it will last. I will try to report back on how it is holding up.Update: I have been using this for maybe two years now and it is still working great. The centering posts will scratch the blade on the sides but you are marking in order to get to grinding so that is a non-issue.
