Hmmm....Pros and Cons....
***I'm 5'8" 140 lb. female. 30" waist & I need 34" pants inseam*** Okay. I thought the side seams looked oddly bulging but couldn't really tell so I ordered cuz I wanted super baggy below the knee shorts. Yep, sure enough, side seams were weird. So I just straightened them up with a quick trip through the sewing machine and trimmed off the bulge. But the real PROBLEM was the hems. I mean drunk monkeys on Valium must have done the hems, they were heinous! They aren't turned under and sewn in place like normal hems. A strip of fabric is attached to bottom of leg, then that strip is sewn down to finish the hem. And that's where everything goes HORRIBLY WRONG on otherwise reasonably decent construction. Yeah you guessed, ripped those out and fixed them too. So why did I do all that instead of just returning? Well...they're rather cool...there are many pieces in the pattern design that you can't see. And despite no linen present anywhere, so that's a lie, I still like that they're not see through and feel like a washed cotton. I washed and machine dried completely. Too lazy to actually measure but my photos show before wash/dry on left, after on right. Looks maybe inch or two shrinkage in length?Fabric has a rather beefy feel to it for a summer short and it's got a look like pebbled leather. Don't know how else to describe that it's not flat and smooth like a cotton shirt. And photos don't show that either. This was rather tough to review fairly because the highs were high but man the lows were low! Overall they were mostly good and construction was rather on par for price. You only get the 2 front pockets. I don't know why they went to all the trouble to make fake welt pockets on back when it's just as easy to make REAL welt pockets! And geez could they cough up a few more inches on the drawstring! These shorts are very confusing to this lifelong seamstress lol!Should you buy them? If you don't mind the really crappy twisty mess on the hems and ridiculously short drawstring and weird bulgy side seams then yes...I will field test when summer arrives for cool factor. Because they are as baggy as I wanted I think they may become faves...now that I fixed them to suit me lol.I decided 3 stars was fair because they're average construction quality. I took fabric science in college and based on no ENGLISH fabric content label, I'm going with what I know and I'm not feeling the linen as claimed. And those hems!I guess in the end I simply can't say if they'd be worth it to you to risk.

Awesome!!
Laughing at a lot of these reviews, but some truth to all. They are DIFFERENT. Basically Vietnamese fishing shorts. They aren't something you see anywhere but a foreign beach generally, so if you are self conscious or afraid of being different then save your money. If you could care less, then GET SOME!! They're amazing. Super comfortable with room to move. Linen material that gets even softer after wash. Functional pockets and drawstring. These aren't work shorts. Good for lounging around the house, walking the beach, or sitting on a barstool. They pretty much rock, but as advised, they are DIFFERENT. Get some.😁

Thick fabric, shoddy waistband
I originally purchased these to have a lightweight alternative to some of the pajama pants I typically wear around the house. Due to the thickness of the linen fabric, however, they are not what I would describe as lightweight, and in fact they are quite insulating. Additionally, the elastic in the waistband has a tendency to get bound up during washing/drying, causing the band to become more bulky and cord-like, and less like a typical elastic waistband.Overall, I think these are of acceptable quality for what you pay, but may have been willing to spend some extra money on something that more closely matches what I was looking for.

Great with LDS garments!
I wear longer shorts because of lds garments but find it hard sometimes to find ones that will not show when you sit down. I bought a pair of blue ones Saturday and loved them so much bought a black pair as well. Very Very comfortable! I am about size 38 so 4XL is just right! Fabric is of very good quality, well constructed, and again so comfortable. The design is different because of flared legs but at age 70 I can wear anything and don't really care what people think. I may end of buying another pair!

Very comfy - high quality
I swear these were at my door as soon as I clicked purchase. The quality is much higher than I expected and they feel very very good on. I fluctuate between a 38-40 leaning more toward 38 and the Asian Tag 4XL : Waist 37"-39" is perfect with plenty of room (maybe 2 sizes) up or down due to comfy elastic and drawcord.False pockets in the back and med to shallow pockets in the front. I picked these up for a festival but I will be wearing them around the house and think I will pick up another pair. 5 stars

Good, but the pockets aren't as deep as they look.
Knocked off one star for the stitching...the way they're stitched makes it look like the pockets are much deeper than they are. There are also false pockets on the back, but that's less of an issue than the misleading stitches on front. Other than that, a fine and comfy pair of casual lounge pants.

Doesn’t feel like linen.
I like the fit and the way easy style.I haven’t worn them for any length of time yet, but the fabric is a far cry from the airy, lightweight linen I am used to. To the touch, the material feels like a slick, man-made product with the promise of being very hot when worn. Hopefully, a laundering will solve that issue. If not, I have a pair of “not really linen” shorts for the cool days of fall.
