The Amish Paperback – March 5, 2013

Rather frustrated at myself -- I had wanted to purchase the updated version of the 448 page book Amish Society by Jose[h A Hostetler, and instead picked up this 57 page booklet for the same price. It's nice enough but not at ALL what I wanted. Posting this so others won't make the same mistake....

This booklet is only 55 pages, but it has quite a bit of information as well as some nice photos. I was a wee bit disappointed in what I receieved for the money, and I feel certain that there could have been a bit of more in depth information, but for an overall view of modern Amish life, it is excellent in my opinion.

Informative.

This is one of several books which I purchased for my husband. Easy to read and full of great information about a culture whom people feel are quaint. I hope people read this and learn what a great group this is.

Pretty basic information.

With only 47 pages - 23 of which are pictures the book was very lightweight and only gives a very superficial account of the Amish. Having said that, the content was authoritative and well written.
