Fresh Brand – Ground Beef 90% Lean/10% Fat, 1 lb

Really off taste, froze it immediately upon delivery, I assumed it was fresh not frozen. Tasted very strong, not like it was spoiled, just didn’t taste right. I smelled the meat before using there was no odor, just after cooking it tasted weird. Made hamburgers with it and had to throw them out. What a waste of money. I have another package of it in the freeze, I’m afraid to use it.

I was hoping for a better result than a lot of the reviews. It was obvious when I got it that the fat content was more than 10%. It visibly has more fat than what I normally buy at the grocery store. There was a lot of liquid when I was cooking it. I'm not sure what they add to the meat, definitely something with oil. As I was cooking it there was grease splattering everywhere, as if I was cooking sausage. I will definitely not buy it again or recommend it. I'll stick to Fred Meyer.

Smelled like weird plastic and a small hit of like a fart almost I looked this up and it is the packaging that causes this smell based on many websites I checked out. Now I don't mind my family did I ended up looking it anyways the flavor was good no smell when it cooked and the family actually tried some after I cooked it because it smells good. Nothing super high quality. But it is decent for the price. I'll probably buy again unless I find 5% fat beef somewhere then that will become the new staple in my diet.

I wish I would've read reviews before purchasing... Definitely not 90% lean, the meat had a bad smell like it was spoiled. It had a funky taste and texture. I will never buy meat from Amazon again. I ended up throwing it away, didn't want to risk getting sick. Don't waste your money.

This beef said it was 90% lean and 10% fat. This beef was definitely NOT 90% lean. There was so much fat that I had to use several paper towel to suck up all the grease.Plus it didn’t taste good once I cooked it up to make tacos.

The reviews are all bad but the item still has 4.6 stars? Amazon’s definitely fluffing stars. I bought three of these today and all three of them were completely rancid smelling. Literally smelled of month old death and the meat was swimming in pools of blood. Ruined my dinner plans, and my appetite for the evening. DO NOT BUY THIS MEAT. Or any other “fresh” meat from Amazon for that matter, my pork roast a few months back had the same rancid smell to it. Disgusting.

That's a hefty price for all the water that there was in the package.I usually buy my meat from whole foods and since recently switched to Fresh, I thought I'd just try the meat here. As a comparison, when I buy 90% lean beef from Whole Foods and fry it in a 12-inch pan with onion on medium heat, the bottom of the pan remains almost dry (as expected because the liquid fat that comes from the beef is absorbed by the onion). It was very surprising to see that the bottom of my pan didn't remain dry with this 90% beef. I can't speak to whether it's 90% lean or less, because all that came down from it was actually water - a lot of water.

I’m not confident this is actually beef?It had a strange thick, solid, and sticky consistency right out of the package. That was the first red flag.Smelled rancid and weird, but was still red/pink. Tried to cut it in half and had to fight it as it was in a solid block shape that didn’t want to separate.Put it in a pan and tried to brown the beef and it was a fight to get it to separate, like it was held together by glue. Lots of grease.The final straw was that the weird strong smell intensified when I cooked it. I honestly wasn’t t willing to eat this once it was finally browned, I felt ill. I’ve had food poisoning from ground beef once in my life and I will do anything to avoid a second experience.I’d ordered four of these, I immediately threw all of them away.
