HonYan 9-22mm 1/3" IR F1.4 CCTV Video Vari-Focal Zoom Lens for CCTV Security Camera

Lens was mounted onto RunCam Split 2 using the M12 threads. Unfortunately, the lens threads are a little short, so I cannot use the whole focal range. The image will not focus at the lower end of the zoom range. No points deducted, since the camera and lens are not advertised as compatible.Thankfully, I purchased this mostly for the much longer zoom than the Split 2's 2.8mm GoPro lens. The lens is very clear. I did not notice any change in clarity moving from the stock lens to this one. The focusing adjustment also works well.One star deducted for the following: the focus mechanism moves the lens assembly past the end of the lens body at one end of the adjustment. In other words, the lens sticks out past the housing. The lens cover cannot be used when the lens is in this configuration. The lens body should have been extended 2-3mm in order to keep the focusing assembly within the body at all times.

Image quality isn’t as good as the standard lens on a Raspberry Pi

The lens does not have an IR filter as it states on the lens, thus you’ll need to fashion one so your colors render accurately. The lens cannot focus throughout the entire zoom range, but does have a relatively sharp image when it is in focus. I purchased this to use as a replacement lens for an action cam. Aside from needing to purchase an IR filter, I’m happy with the performance of the lens.
