Historical Conquest: A Journey Through Time is an epic card game where players can create personalized societies with key players from history and battle them one against another; anyone, anywhere, anytime. Each card is complete with: fantastic illustrations of people, places, events in history; abilities in the game according to the abilities they had in real life; and a full summary of their actual history. Imagine Eric the Red can help the Mongul Army conquer Argentina during the Black Plaque or Albert Einstein can live peacefully in Japan under the leadership of Abraham Lincoln during World War I. The possibilities are endless, as is the fun! (This includes 6 Starter decks)

Misleading photo.
What you see in the photo is not what you get. This is for 7 packs of cards. No play mats, no expansion sets. This arrived on a rainy day and I found it on my porch in a soaking wet, flimsy torn envelope. Very poor packaging for paper cards. The price is extremely high for what you get.

Picture doesn’t display what you actually get
Photo very misleading. Feel like I got taken advantage of. Does not include anything but the standard 7 starter decks. I’m sure will enjoy playing, anyhow, just would have been better if they had just shown a picture of just what you get.

Buyer Beware!
Misleading photo. My boys love the game. However, they bought based on the picture and thought they were getting mats and more expansion packs. Buyer beware. There are only 6 starter packs and 1 expansion deck.

Don’t listen to the negative, this game is GREAT!
This game is such a joy to play!I want to address the negative review. I find it helpful when reading reviews if someone else does this for me.1. The game is not hard. Like any games with rules, it takes a few times playing to get the hang of it. This is what makes a good game! It is never boring and always has different turn outs because of the variety of cards!!! Sure you want easy..... go play “Candy Land. You want an awesome game??PLAY this and other detailed games like this.plus the maker of this game had loads of videos to walk you through!2. So what if you come across a typo. That happens in other games, books, papers, and get even really popular TV shows/ movies! Will you be throwing all those away too?Good grief, just email the company if it bothers you, and they will assist you in a solution. They have great customer care. Why don’t you use those typos as another avenue to teach your child why it’s wrong. Learn “together” That is afterLl the huge advantage of this game. ALL THE HISTORY YOU LEARNThen lastly the cost. I happen to think it’s a great investment. You decide how much to buy any way. The game requires only ONE starter pack per player. The rest is optional. So, if you bought more, no one told you too.I have 3 boys and they love this game. We play as a family, play at our homeschool coop, with friends, and even enjoy going to tournaments! This game made History come alive for my boys. Even as we are in our daily history lessons for school, they will think about how an event, location, or person could be incorporated into this game. Then they REMEMBER more about these things! They store so much more away !!I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this game!I mean no disrespect to the negative writer, but it sounds like they wrote out of frustration, instead of seeking out help in playing the game.P.S. If you really don’t like the game and want to throw cards out, I’ll take them:)

Great Game
This is a great game. The art work is great the strategy and skill to play at a high level is there. It can take some getting use to. The instructions are not the best because of the sheer number of possible combos in the game. What really sells this game is the creator himself Zack is always there for the players and always tries to give you a quality game. The competitive edge of the game needs some work but the create your own card contest (CYOCC) is the greatest thing ever. It gives you the player the chance to make your own card to be put in the game and gives you the chance to win some $$ along the way.Josh2 time CYOCC top 12 finalist and HC video game Beta tester.

biggest disappointment of my homeschool budget for the entire school year.
I will start off by saying the artwork in this set is great, and my boys enjoy playing their own invented version of the game.I will go on to list why I can't stand this game.1) The directions make no sense. Thus the invented version. We are a game-playing family. Nothing should be this complicated. Nothing is intuitive, even if you're used to playing these sorts of card games.2) The cards are riddled with typos. I have in front of me a card with the name of Benjamin Banneker, a scientist. The description on the card says "Einstein is recognized as the most influential physicist of the 20th century" and goes on to talk about Einstein. I have another card where John Wilkes Booth is referred to as Guiteau (a completely different presidential assassin). There was another card from ancient times and on the timeline it said something like US Civil War (I can't remember exactly because I was so disappointed I threw it out). This game cost us a LOT of money. All we got out of it were some cards with interesting artwork. Probably the biggest disappointment of my homeschool budget for the entire school year.

AMAZING CARD GAME!!!
Amazing game! My Autistic teenage son loved these cards! Signed up for the birthday club and explained about my son being in a Historical Conquest class in our homeschool Coop and was doing a speech on the RMS Luisitania and received a personal encouragement card hand written and signed by the maker Zach Edwards.
