So Far So Good - A pretty well thought out Automatic feeder
Timer-based automatic rotary drum feeder that will run from 2 AA batteries or a USB cable. The USB cable doesn't include a transformer brick, so you'll need to provide your own.Essentially you mount the feeder to your tank with one of two options 1) using an included clamp; or 2) velcro. Next you'll select the food drum size (100mL or 50mL) and fill the drum with food. Now, you slide a gate in the drum and set it to meter how much food is released during each feed cycle. Finally, you have options to feed 1, 2 or 3 times daily (every 8, 12 or 24 hours, respectively) as well as a manual 'feed now' button. In operation, when the timer goes off, the drum rotates through 1 full turn/cycle, as it rotates, food in the drum moves through the restrictor gate, and is then released downward into a chute/trough, the purpose of the trough is to direct the food into tank and possibly reduce condensation or backsplash.Depending on what type of food you're using, and the gate opening setting, you'll probably get mixed results. I got good results with my gate set on about the 3-4th smallest, where I found that flakes and small grains worked well. Large flakes have to be crumbled or it will tend to jam in the drum. A portion of the flakes also seem to adhere and not fall into the trough, and some adhere to the trough, and a bit falls outside and not into the chute at all, requiring some regular clean-up. Small grained/balled food works well, with less mess, but mostly my fish prefer flakes.. Floating sticks don't work very well, and need to be crumbled.Despite the tendency of flake food to get a bit outside onto the aquarium top, in general, this drum feeder seems reliable, is pretty well thought out, and does it's job. I'll likely only use it during vacations and trips longer than a couple days, but it will ease the mind and keep our fish from going hungry.

Needed some adjustments but works
Well, my fish didn't die while we were on vacation but my tank was filthy. Prior to leaving we set this up and ran it for a week to make sure it worked. Here are some finer points.....1. it must be level. I have a circular tank with a center filter and very small opening for food to fall into. The clip included wouldn't work. I had to set it on the tank but it wasn't level. I realized, after a few days, that the food was falling back in the holder..away from the opening and nothing was falling out to dispense. It has to be level and full for the food to reach the opening at one end of the dispenser. 2. The adjustable food slide isn't very accurate....mine was either scant food or large dumping. Hence, my tank was a mess when we got home from overfeeding. 3. It needs heavier food, not so much flakes. We initially held flakes but they get caught up in the chute. It needed pellets or food with weight to make it down the chute.Overall, I'll use it again. But it needed some adjustments to work.

Works after you figure out the glitches
Bought this for my son to use for his fishtank at college during the holiday breaks. First time it dumped all the food into the tank. Luckily my son was able to remove most of it. He had to rig it to work on his 30 gallon tank. He has student id's cut in half to support his opening. At the end of the day it is working but it took a lot of configuring to set it up. A lot of trial and error and being there to witness the errors. Now that he worked out the kinks he is happy with the feeder, he uses it daily to feed his fish even when he is not away.

Not ideal for a single betta fish
I purchased this feeder because I travel quite a bit and wanted to ensure my betta fish had access to food while I am traveling. I purchased this feeder because of the many reviews that stated it could feed a single fish based on the slide to adjust feeding amount. Well, the slide does widen and narrow the opening, but the opening is a little over an inch long. This means that even at the narrowest width, a considerable amount of food is still dispensed, more along 20-30 pellets (Top fin mini-pellets for betta's) than the 1 or 2 I was hoping for. It may work with a larger pellet, but my betta's mouth isn't quite that big. I've modified it to reduce the length of that opening from ~1 inch to around 1/8 inch to limit the amount of food that is dropped. I'm going to stick with it and see if I can make it work, but if you are looking for a single betta fish feeder, this product does not meet that. That being said, it arrived on time and with all the parts listed, and seems to be a good quality feeder.

Works great for my single goldfish. Lots of features and great for the cost.
Works great to feed my single gold fish. In using pellets, it is difficult to set the portion adjustment to the correct quantity. Consistency isn't the best in terms of amount dispensed. The larger tumbler holds a few months of food for a single fish fed 2 times a day. The timer is consistent between feedings. The clamp allows adjust ability for the width of the lip of the fish tank. The nice part is you can leave the clamp on and take the feeder off and on. The power adapter means you don't have to keep feeding it batteries, but it has those too for a backup which is nice. Able to head out of town for a week and not worry about Bob... my fish.

Great feeder for larger feed pellets or flakes (not tiny betta pellets)
This is a well built and simple device for feeding your fish. Do note that if you are using the really small betta food pellets (~1mm in diameter small), then you are going to be overfeeding your fish unless you do something to restrict the output (I used a few pieces of tape to cover all bout a small part of the dispensing orifice and it worked great). So, be prepared to do a little modification if you're using very fine food pellets. If it weren't for this required mod, I would have given this 5 stars for sure.
