Disposable Cold Brew Coffee Filters - 35 PACK - The Original - Cleaner, Brighter Cold Brew, Without the Cleanup - (1 Quart Personal Size)

I bought a box of the medium size I believe, and I can fit a cup and a half of ground coffee beans in the bag, which makes a good sized pitcher full of cold brew. (I use 1.5c beans to 4.5c water for the concentrated brewing, and then add 2c water afterwards) I liked them so much I bought a second box to have on hand so I don't run out.

I've been making cold brew coffee for a few years now and have tried a variety of methods. I own a number of systems that ranged from all-in-ones to nut milk bags of both cotton and nylon and a couple of the steel mesh 'cups' suited for mason jars. They all share two things in common after a while of using them, the first is the taste of my brews changed as the filter aged with the exception of the nylon bags with the stainless steel filters tending to leave a metallic edge to the taste where the cotton and hemp weave bags also acquired a off taste.The other trait is they were all a chore. Dump the grinds, rinse the filter, wash appropriately, let dry. Of these the nylon bags were the least hassle when it came to cleaning it, but 3 different brands shared a similar trait in that the seams always frayed on me in one way or another after a handful of uses. Screw i thought, lets try a disposable bag and see how that goes.This brand stands apart due to it's different size options with the consumer friendly awareness that hey, not everyone likes brewing only 2 cups worth at a time in tiny mason jars. Want to do a gallon? They got the bag! Want to do just a quart? Yep same brand you trust.And trust me on this folks, from someone who has tried lots of different ways and was willing to do it 'the hard way', these disposables are it!!! No mess, no fuss, you pull it out, squeeze, off into the trash . If you're a composter, slit the bag, dump the grinds and throwing the spent bag away is still way way easier than mucking around with a clingy nut milk bag or a not so stainless steel mesh cup that one wrong tap could ruin. For me this is now the only practical and effective solution for cold brewing.

I wanted to wait until I tried a few before reviewing and I rarely will review unless it's either very bad or very good. These work really well - no problem with tying the string, no leaks of grounds into the water, and the included folding cone makes filling the filter quite easy as you can hold the filter with the cone in the top with one hand and add the grounds with the other. I use the glass carafe from the machine I use for brewed coffee and I do soak the grounds with water before tying up the filter as recommended. I forgot to do that one time and the filter floated on top of the water until I put some weight on it to keep it under water until the grounds were soaked. Also, I don't notice any taste from the filter so I'm giving it five stars.

As a cold brew coffee lover, I have used various systems for preparing the coffee grounds and then placing them within water , and the refrigerator, and waiting for the magic to occur. I have used a French press method, various metal or mesh filters placed into glass containers, and using differing coffee grinding methods. As I was preparing for an extended road trip, desperate to find a system to use on the road, I ran across these cloth filters. I wouldn't have to bring a coffee grinder, nor a filter needing to be cleaned. I only needed to fill the bags with coffee, place it in the jar with water and the coffee was ready by the end of the driving day. No need to grind the whole beans into a course ground texture, the bags hold the regular coffee without any grounds escaping. No messy cleanup, just toss the bags, holding the grounds ,into the trash. I even used the same bag,same grounds in a second round of water, resulting a less potent drink mixture, but full of flavor none the less. Upon returning home, I have continued using these Alto bags. I no longer have to grind the whole beans or use mesh filters in my sink, as I do when rinsing out old grounds. I don't have to worry if my mesh filters are really a good metal or if they are clean or rusting. I only have clean the jars which are used in brewing. Using the bags for the coffee making has simplified the process while retaining the wonderful flavor of the cold brew. I recommend this option to anyone. I love it.

Never a leak even when squeezing the coffee out of the grinds at the end. Love the Hirabo brew pot but threw out the permanent filter as too many grind particles escape. The included cardboard funnel is a huge help. Perfect for cold brew.

These worked great for my cold brew coffee. So much easier to use than the filtering I did before. Fill the bag with coffee, put it in a mason jar, fill with water, leave it overnight. Take out the bag. Done. Cold brew concentrate. With a little experimentation you can easily adjust the strength to your preference. Definitely be ordering again.

No mess at all and perfect coffee. However, you don't HAVE to throw them away if you have the time to rinse them out. Most of the time I dump the grounds into my compost, turn the bag inside out and rinse them out. They last until you get lazy and throw them out.
